shout is activated by using the R2 on PS3.....when u do the mission to High Helroth or w/e its called u get more shouts.....to save you some time the first one they teach you have to use r2 and l2 to get it to work...the other is a quick run...in order to do it you hold l2 while running......took me a lil while to figure that shit out

Game is so addicting. I'm level 13 and have only put points in archery and light armor. Might eventually put some points in sneak for the 3x bow damage. I've foraged a ton and learned a lot of potion properties. Should start smithing more since I'm maxing out light armor I guess.
Just joined the imperial army last night and did a couple of those missions. I can tell ill want another play through so I can try the rebel storyline. -
see my post earlier itt on how to get a bunch of easy sneak points in the imperial army storyline

anyone reccomend me picking oblivion prior to this?
I still have to finish a couple games and delete saves before buying next big game, but curious if I should start there since Im in no hurry and it sounds like that may be the best one -
No. Oblivion is a pyling steamer next to Skyrim.

there's no point in playing previous elder scrolls unless you really want to. Its kind of like final fantasy, each one is different.... (for the most part) you don't need to play the previous versions to know what's going on

sounds like fallout sometimes, i hope there arent bullshit confusing mazes to get everywhere
-
well considering its the same developers and the same engine, I'd say yeah its a fair bit like fallout, just as fallout was a fair bit like oblivion -
I have yet to come across anything like that underground tunnel system in fallout.

I cant figure out in this game for the life of me if i wanna be a pure mage or a pure warrior, oy... I am usually a mage in these types of games but the new 2h look/feel is so good
anyone that's played both alot wanna chime in? -
What's the point of playing a fantasy game if you aren't going to use magic? Mage looks so boss anyways but have fun swinging the same sword in the same motion at every enemy.

i see your point though, that will get boring after a while but spells will become more fun and more advanced over time -
You asking this question makes me feel like you don't understand the genre.
-
I do obv I played oblivion and morrowind and ultimately it's to each their own. I just think it'd get hella boring just swinging a sword when there's all types of sweet shit to do with a mage. Ya feel me?

I like playing a thief/swashbuckler type in fantasy settings. I grew up playing D&D and almost always played a rogue. Mages don't get to backstab, sneak/hide, pickpocket, pick locks, etc... Fantasy rpg settings are much more than just wizards and dragons.

finally someone that understands OCD:

OCD is thinking you have to twist every knob on the stove eight times because you cracked your knuckles out of order, otherwise your heart will explode.
hate all the people that say: I spent an hour organizing my room, I'm sooo OCD!
/rant
good read btw, most of this is sad but true... it happens all the time that I spend 2 hours to organize my shit instead of do quests -
finally caved and got it, possibly gg saturday

Very impressive so far, basically played straight up to level ten, only stopped to go see immortals which was kinda odd timing.
