lol actually I completely understand bands like UFO, Lizzy, Y&T, Saxon, etc not being in there because although they are some of my favorite bands and huge influences on many - they just aren't big in the states.

But for bands like KISS, Purple, Rush, Priest, The Moody Blues, Cheap Trick, etc I mean just what in the fuck?

I actually don't care all that much to be honest. It's just so horrible that it's laughable and I can't help but comment on it's awfulness and I guess I care a little just because the bands care.

If every band in the HoF in certain genres site UFO, Saxon, etc as their heroes and inspirations then I totally agree they should get in regardless of their commercial popularity.

Oh yeah I def think they should be in, I just understand their omissions unlike the impossible to understand omission of many other bands.

As much as I'm not a big fan of their music and certainly can't stand Gene and Pauls greed, I wouldn't want to live in a world without KISS because that would mean so many amazing musicians and bands probably would have never been.

Similarly you got guys like Steve Harris, Kirk Hammett, even Mike McCready who picked up an instrument because of UFO or like you heard first hand at the TMS taping how Lars got into music solely because of Deep Purple, etc. etc. the list can go on and on. The whole point of the hall is to recognize influence (straight from the CEO's mouth) yet the bands that come up time and time again as being major influences are the ones who get ignored and some random group of people with no musical ability are the ones deciding who gets in.
  7. I learned the intro of Home Sweet Home by the Crue last night on piano.

  17. In a prefect world it would just be The Rock And Roll Museum because the premise of a rock and roll hall of fame is kind of against what music is supposed to be about. IMO it goes against the whole nature of it. But as far as maximizing its exposure they have to have a hall. It brings tons of exposure and heads into the doors. So I understand why they do it. But I can understand and support why a lot of musicians do not care for it.
  18. Albert King

    Heart

    Donna Summer

    Public Enemy

    Rush
  19. Rush obv.

  21. Serious problem here- about to do some spring cleaning and I turned on tv music station to Retro Rock for the chore. Faith No More was playing who I can totally get behind. While its playing I go take a dump and now Creed With Arms Wide Open is blasting. I think it's Creed but the song is playing and I'm stuck listening to this flaming turd of sound. Worst of all, the two girls who live next door (one who is real cute) are outside and I know they can hear it. How the fuck do I explain this. Not only is Creed playing loud in my house but girls can hear it!!

Creed just ended and now it's Match Box 20! Please god why can't I stop shitting!! Make it go away!!!!!

As much as I hate to say it, with a few more radio friendly albums, Matchbox 20 will be in the RRHOF.

  24. Rush - we need more Canadians in it

And just for the record RnR-HoF, has become the Music Hall of Fame which imo isn't that big of a deal but they should admit it though.

  26. And the Inductees for 2013 are:

    Heart (good)
    Albert King (good)
    Randy Newman (WTF?)
    Public Enemy (not rock)
    Rush (finally)
    Donna Summer (not rock)

OK - I understand Public Enemy and Donna Summer getting in since the hall has polluted itself with non-Rock acts historically. But Randy Newman? Over guys that have been mentioned previously in this thread?

    Fuck you RnRHOF
