Whats the gameplay like with the wheel? Better/worse than a standard controller?
-
I have the game sitting in front of me. I am waiting for a movie to end then I will be playing it. CANT WAIT! I will respond after we play..
-
normally i too would be very excited but there is something happening 36 hours from now.
-
so is it good? wtf

very fun but the wii wheel thing is a bit tricky to get used to. the chucks are the way to play so far. the levels are sick and sometimes frustrating how far you will be in the lead only to get raped over and over by things you cant control (like 2-4th always getting back to back to back super weapons to render you useless). all in all its a fun game and i cant wait to kick everyones ass who wants some.

that's what the reviews say. they say it sucks that you can't disable the preferential treatment of giving super weapons (lightning bolts, blue shells, etc) to the people not in 1st place. they say it sucks that you can have the perfect race in which you make zero mistakes, and you can still end up well out of first b/c this.

That's the way every mario kart game has worked since SNES. They do give you the option of turning items off, or only playing with 'strategic items'. Strategic items basically just means shells, bananas and mushrooms.

Brag: have N64 and Mario Kart, played it with GF yesterday :D

I've had it for a few weeks now. Its pretty awsome. There are 16 remake tracks, wich is pretty fun. When playing online I have never experienced any lag at all, and you can play two people online at the same time (only one get to track his results, and get the rating updated tho).
The graphics are pretty good imo, considering how "weak" the Wii is.
Wiimote + nunchuck is the best way to control it imo. You can also use the wheel, classic controller or a gamecube controller. I dont like the wheel tho, but all the other options work pretty well. -
The game is cool. Alot more carts on the track at once. 12 total on multi player. There are a few new weapons which are pretty cool. The power sliding around corners is a little different and more simple, u can also set ur power slide to automatic where the game basically does the slide for u. I like the game just alot of new stuff to get used to.

GTA 4 babyyyyyyyyyy -
I've had all the Mario Kart games, the SNES was always my favorite, played that one the most.
Bought the Wii version yesterday. Driving with the wheel is very easy and it's a lot of fun, and without it, it's just another Mario Kart game like the rest. The wheel makes it and I think it's worth it. -
Yeah the wheel is a little tricky to get used to, but once you are used to it its a nice addition to the game. Its also really easy to connect to online games... which presents a really awesome alternative to be able to race against 11 other real people as opposed to a bunch of computers. There is also a way to do time trials and have them ranked worldwide, which is really fun if you like to get competitive about things like trying to run the fastest race.
