The new full-length documentaries will include films about the North Carolina State basketball team that won the N.C.A.A. men’s championship in 1983; the 100-meter final at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul whose winner, Ben Johnson, tested positive for steroids; Bo Jackson, the athletic marvel who played baseball and football and starred in the “Bo Knows” series of Nike ads.
Two films that made their debut at the Tribeca Film Festival are also on the roster: “Benji,” about a high school basketball star in Chicago who was murdered in 1984, and “Broke,” about athletes who lose their fortunes.

-
Several of them have been very good. Really interested to see the Ben Johnson one. doubt they expose that fraud Carl Lewis, but who knows?
-
The Canadian media will be all over the Ben Johnson story. It was one of the very dark moments in Canadian Sports History.

The U, The Two Escobars (even though i hate soccer), Bartman, and Miller Time were all top-top for me.
-
The Two Escobars, Once Brothers (Divac and Petrovic), and Unguarded (Chris Herren's story) are easily my favorites. ESPN 30 for 30 has been a huge success imo, and I can't wait for these new episodes.

The mini vid from Simmons' article yesterday about Pete Rose was fairly sad. I love how Pete says "You can take pictures for free behind the rope" but then the sign in front of the shop in the Forum Shoppes says "no photos/videos" and his little entourage there got in my way and wouldn't let me take pics without paying money when I was there last. Then Pete refused to sign a baseball "Always bet on Red" so I bounced...
I think he should be in the HOF, but to be honest his display in Cooperstown is more interesting than most already. -
wow how the fuck did i forget about The Fab Five as well? the red sox 2004 one was enjoyable for the yankee hater in me, but didn't have enough new material, was mostly just replaying game footage and showing people going ape shit in bars.

Two Escobars, The U, Dupree, Bartman, Petrovic were all amazing. Also incredible was Senna, which wasn't technically part of the collection but is for all intensive porpoises the same thing. Am quite excited to see most of the new ones and I like the idea of shorts even if Pete Rose was meh.

Dupree was one of my favorites as well
-

stumbled into that shop once when i had some time to kill before one of the caesars poker tournies. there was some game on and i started talking about it casually with him, and he was being the biggest prick imaginable. i didn't even realize it was him until i turned to look and was like holy fuck that's pete rose, holy fuck he's a prick. guess he lost a shit ton of money on that game.
