  1. Dedicated to BigGunX; nominate your 5 best war movies/series:

    1. Ken Burns "The Civil War"
    2. Band of Brothers
    3. Apocalypse Now
    4. The Thin Red Line
    5. Life is Beautiful
  2. I LOVED Band of Brothers, but my list would be a little different.

    1. Saving Private Ryan (most realistic in terms of what battle wounds actual look like)
    2. Platoon
    3. Band of Brothers
    4. The Thin Red Line
    5. The Patriot

So many to pick from.....if you want time period films in there, I loved Braveheart as well.

  3. 1.) Back to the Future

    "SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER!!"
  4. Full Metal Jacket
    Saving Private Ryan
    Platoon
    Heartbreak Ridge
Rudy(the war being the internal conflict he faced when Dan Devine wouldn't play him the last Game vs. GA Tech.)
  5. The phantom menace
    Clone wars
    Revenge of the sith
    Star wars
    Empire strikes back
    Return of the jedi

    War games
    Behind enemy lines
    Rambo
    and a few more

  6. FYI neither Ken Burns "Civil War" or Band of Brothers qualifies as being a "movie", I like a lot of the picks, might toss in Blackhawk Down, Gallipoli, and as far as realism goes I think its still hard to beat All Quiet on the Western Front even after all these years. But when it comes down to it I must agree Apocalypse Now dominates all.
  7. He said "war movies or SERIES"....therefore, Band of Brothers qualifies.

Yes, Blackhawk Down was phenomenal and equally as realistic as Saving Private Ryan.

I'm not a fan of All Quiet for some reason.

  8. since this is a tribute to biggunx, has anyone seen the b-rated porno he was in, blackcock down? he swallows meat with the best of em....
  9. I own Band of Brothers and am convinced I have watched it at least 10 times now. It still stands out as stunning great TV.

    so....

    1) Band Of Brothers
    2) Schindler's List
    3) Platoon
    4) Full Metal Jacket (only the basic training part of the movie, the rest sucked)

  12. I haven't seen many but...

    1) Band of Brothers
    2) Saving Private Ryan
    3) Saints and Soldiers (low-budget and short, but I really liked it)

Full Metal Jacket-- the beginning was amazing

"Are you quitting on me? Well, are you? Then quit, you slimy fucking walrus-looking piece of shit. Get the fuck off of my obstacle! Get the fuck down off of my obstacle!!! Now! Move it! I'm going to rip your balls off, so you cannot contaminate the rest of the world. I will motivate you, Private Pyle, if it short-dicks every cannibal on the Congo."

"You look like you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose!"

"5 foot 9? I didn't know they stacked shit that high!"

"Who's the slimy little communist shit, twinkle-toed cocksucker down here who just signed his own death warrant?"

"I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddam common courtesy to give him a reach-around."

I ended up seeing another flick i had already seen and waited on her, as that movie clocked in at almost 3 hours.
