Me and a friend of mine are trying to make a short film (not a porno believe it or not) and theres a song we need for one scene but we don't know who it is by or what it is called.
We think it is an '80s song but possibly late 70's or early 90's.
We aren't even sure exactly how it goes, but what we think remember is this:
It doesn't have any actualy words for the entire song (if we remember correctly) and mainly consists of a dramatic mixture of electrical instuments in identical tone to a person (or persons) singing "lalalalaaaaaalalalaaalalalaaala, lalalalaaaaaaalalalaaalalala" and it just keeps getting louder and louder volume-wise.
Even though the person is saying "la" it isn't a cheery or upbeat song, but instead a song that is used for dramatic montage moments in movies (sometimes even good for fucked up scenes for example if some people are committing suicide etc
good luck
thanks in advance,

can you remember how many beats per minute the song is? and where did you hear it?
-
As far as I'm concerned, anything less than 120 BPM might as well be a funeral march.
-
I've heard it probly at least a dozen different movies but I don't remember which ones (which is weird since I almost always remember these types of things)
It;s possible the it was saying "nah nah nah" and not "la la la" but the "ah" is the emphasized part, not the consenant, so I can't remember.
Let's see, I don't know stuff about bpm but I can estimate roughly, lemme think here
I would say that each 3-piece "lalala" is about a second, or a little less than a second.
The key is the gaps between the lalalas, I'll type it with spaces to indicate breaks and "aaaa" rather than "a" means an extended "a" sound.
Lemme try again
Oh and I'll capitalize for emphasized (volume as well as length-wise "a"'s)
lalalaLAAAAAAlalaLAAAlalaLAAla lalalaLAAAlalaLAlalaLALA
The first series is increasing in pitch from low pitch to high pitch up to the first really long "AAAAAAA" and then drops a bit for the second and third shorter extended "AAA" noises, and then the second series gets lower and lower in pitch down to the starting pitch of the whole thing.
I am about 99% certain that I got the first part correct, but I am only about 50% sure I ty[ed the second part correctly (the part after the space).
It basically repeats this, or very similar versions of this for the whole song I think, unless I'm being retarded and its just the chorus or something.
I also think I remember that as this repeats itself a bunch of times it keeps getting significantly louder and louder, but its possible I'm wrong.
Fuck
I think this is gonna be a tough one.
Plus I have to leave really soon to drive back to Tucson for college (a few minutes to an hour or two depending on how much my mom starts yelling at me lol) so in a little bit I'll be gone for like 8 hours.

I'd like to download it so I hope someone can remember the name, sounds great
-
The song at the end of "Man On Fire" was always a good one.
-
It's definitely "nah nah nah", not "lah lah lah". I'm 72% sure you're talking about Chevy Chase's "be the ball" mantra from Caddyshack.
-
Oh and the music in the background, which I think is made purely electronically, though I could be wrong, mimics the persons "la's" identically. For that matter, it is improbably but possible that I am beig so retarded that there aren't even any "la's" and that it is all just computer synthesis. But I think it is a person being enhanced by electronics or something if I remember correctly.
This thread is making me feel more and more retarded. Lol. -
you thinking of Hey Jude, "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, Hey Jude!"
-
I'm pretty sure its not that, although I don't really remember what song they played (I'm strongly guessing it wasn't the song you are thinking of though for a chevy chase be the ball scene).
I would estimate there is about a 10% chance that they played it at some point in the movie scarface just off a random hunch, but I haven't watched scarface in a long time so i really don't remember.
I know for sure that the yayo song was in scarface tho. Haha who could forget that. (that's not the song tho obv) -
lol no not Hey Jude. Much less well known song than hey jude.
-
It's the type of song you would expect to hear if there are a bunch of people at a dance club and one of them sees a person out of the corner of their eye and follows them to go murder them or something. Which is why I threw a wild guess out that it may have appeared in scarface, maybe 10% chance.

It kind of reminds of Joe Walsh - Life's Been Good, but I don't think thats it

-
I think I got it, does it go "I need lalalala, oh lalalala"? There's a techno song called "Ooh la la" by Faces.

Ok lemme try something here,
I'll use ">" to indicate an increase in tone pitch and "<" to indicate a decrease in tone pitch. ">>" would indiacte a larger increase in tonepitch between "la's" than a mere ">" and a hiphen means no pitch change at all. But I dunno if I'll need to do that, hold on lemme try right now
la>la>la>>LAAAAAA<la<la>LAA&l t;la<la>LA<<la la>luh-luh>laaahh<luh<luh[luh>luh>luh<luhhh] the stuff in the brackets has a high probability of being incorrect, but the rest of it I'm almost positive I remembered correctly

Fugehdabahdit and just use this instead

Also, it is not a latin-style song at all, more like some song you'd expect to hear from ace of base or something. It uses either computer generated tone or possibly violin or altered violin I think. It's kinda hard to explain, but most of the guesses so far were way off style-wise. -
It could be:
Porcupine Tree: http://www.myspace.com/porcupinetree
Also Bfactor I write dramatic type songs, let me know if you are interested in listening. -
Fuck
Well now this is gonna be tougher since it isn't in scarface (I checked not just Tony's theme but all the songs in the soundtrack on that webpage and none of them were it) Btw Tony's theme is pretty sick. It isn't at all like the thing I'm thinking of though, totally different song.
This is going to sound really really ghey but I think there is probly around a 10% chance that it is an abba song, because of it's style. I don't know though cuz the only dong I know by abba is "dancing queen" (and no I don't like that song lol... c'mon I LIKE CHICKS!!!!!! arghhh)

this reminds me when a girlfriend's mom asked me to pick up a book for her on a trip to the mall but she didn't know the author or the title
-
Holy shit I FINALLY FUCKING REMEMBER where I last heard this song. It was in the movie "hostel"
ahahahahaha
Jesus I'm a fucking retard
The way I finally figured it out was that as I was editing the original post for this thread I was typing out that I didn't really like the song but that me and my friend wanted to use it for a torture scene where the torturer would take out a boombox and turn it up very very loud right before torturing the guy when it finally dawned on me that I heard it in a film that was all about torture (hostel) although if I remember correctly the music was in a scene where the darker skinned main character is in the dance club and gets locked in the janitors closet (not during a torture scene)
sorry for all the mess guys.
I'm actually kinda surprise I finally remembered it on my own.
