NOTE - P5's does not endorse betting of any kind and is not responsible for lost funds
These are the finalized rules. They will not be changed from this point on. If you hate the rules, scoring system, or want to make comments on how to improve things in the future, please PM me instead of posting in the thread.
Contest Rules:
1. Entry fee: $500+$25
a.) $25 per entry will go towards the creation and maintenance of an automated website throughout the contest, which is explained in more detail at the bottom of this post.
b.) Entry fee money is to be sent on FullTilt to thechemist83. (T/FTOPS jersey)
c.) All winners will be paid on FullTilt at the end of the contest.
2. Contest will begin with UFC 118 Edgar vs. Penn II on August 28, 2010.
3. Contest will end with the final UFC event in February, 2011.
4. All UFC events are eligible whether PPV or not. Any Ultimate Fighter season finale will count towards the contest, but the individual fights throughout the season of The Ultimate Fighter will not count.
5. Each person will submit a winner for each fight and will be awarded points as follows:
a.) 1 point per correct fight on the undercard (any fight not on the original main card even if it is later shown on the main card)
b.) 2 points per correct fight on the main card (excluding the main event)
c.) 3 points per correct main event (co-main event will not be included)
d.) Each underdog you pick correctly will earn double the above points. Underdogs are defined as fighters with betting odds of +150 or worse. These underdogs will be decided by sportsbook.com and posted a week prior to each UFC event on the website.
6. Payouts will be as follows:
a.) 1-9 players: person with the most points wins 100% of prize pool
b.) 10-19 players: 1st place 75%, 2nd place 25%
c.) 20-29 players: 1st place 70%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10%
d.) 30-39 players: 1st place 65%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10%, 4th place 5%
e.) 40+ players: 1st place 60%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10%, 4th place 7%, 5th place 3%
7. In the event of a tie at the end of the contest, the person with the most correct picks throughout the contest will break the tie. If it's still tied, the people involved will split the money for the place(s) shared.
8. I’ll take entries up to August 25th at midnight central time.
9. Multiple entries are allowed.
I will be holding all money for the duration of the contest. If you have any worries about this, I have backed over 100 players in the last 3 years in mostly high stakes online tournaments. I’ve held money for numerous contests and could get several high stakes poker players to vouch for my honesty. I was also backed by sheets/bax for a year in the past, and I'm sure either would be happy to vouch for me.
Website Standards:
1. Each person will have their own unique login to submit their picks. Picks can be edited up to approximately 24 hours before each event. Picks are set in stone and shown publicly approximately 24 hours before each event. No one can view your picks until then except you.
2. Events will be posted on the website approximately a month in advance. At this time, people will be able to submit their picks at any point up to 24 hours before each event.
3. All odds for each fight will be posted approximately a week before each event based on sportsbook.com odds at the time. Underdogs (fighters who have +150 or worse betting odds) will be stated clearly at this time on the website and set in stone even if the betting odds change leading up to the event.
4. Points will be tallied, and the leader board will be updated on the website within 2 days of the completion of each event.
5. Website should be completed by mid August.. hopefully sooner.
6. Website will likely have a forum to discuss upcoming events, results, get to know each other better, etc.
I realize the $25 fee might not be very appealing on the surface, but I think it's much better to pay a little extra to have an automated website that keeps everyone's picks confidential to maintain the integrity of the contest. It's also nice to visit the site and see past and present results throughout the contest without having to contact me directly and wait for a response.
If you have any questions, please ask here or message me privately. I will let everyone know when the website is complete.

Thats The Thing -
10 ppl in. Website targeted for 15th-21st with a guaranteed launch by the 21st. In the next few days, I'll be gathering email addresses and take all messages to emails once the contest starts. I was hoping to get at least 20 entrants. Based on the interest from poker players on my AIM list, I'm still hopeful.
and we will be using pinnaclesports.com instead of sportsbook as I've been told it's much better/more accurate. -
If any of you wanna make some easy money back me in this picking thing.
I have won 2 year in a row in a free pick em league and I follow MMA very close and can tell you just about anything you want to know about guys that would be good enough to get in UFC let alone small Orgs.
I own every UFC on dvd and dvd trade for all kinds of small local shows ( have around 3000 mma dvds) then there is the thing called the internet and I watch a crip of MMA on here.
So basically what I'm offering is my picks you cash ( I'm broke bastard and just become a 99er from unemployment)
But I know my MMA and just thought maybe you might want to back the ringer. -
site is complete but still a little buggy. i can't do a complete test of the site until monday. if everything goes well, we'll keep things as planned and start with the august 28th event. if something needs fixing, we'll push it back to sept 15th fight night card... sorry for the slight delay, but i'm hopeful we start with the august 28th card still.

Man up and get in anyway imo:) I 100% guarantee you know more than I do. Besides, aren't we exactly the kind of people who usually win these things?
