    ...who had his password stolen by a person he knew. He said kicking his ass was not an option. So I said the following:

    wowzers,

    Personally, I would find some sort of interesting way to get back at this person. Since you recovering your money is unlikely, I would attempt to make his life very unpleasant. For instance, register his name on several gay adult personal websites/newspapers, maybe even a disturbing fetish one.....list his picture, home phone, cellphone, e-mail, maybe even a work phone. This after about the 50th phone call will start to drive him mad. Then I might contact the local newspaper and take an advertisement out for an "open house" showing of his home....say 7 am on a Sunday. Continue this every sunday by scheduling satellite dish installations, large orders of deleivery food, landscaping esitmates etc....just make sure it is always at a very inconvient time. Finally, once you feel justice has been served....send him flowers w/ a card reading "Well worth the 4K". Just remember not to use your computer, and to purchase a pre-paid cellphone, so none of this can be traced back to you.

    If you know where he lives, go to his house when he's at work and nobody is home. Grab the hose from the side of his house and stick the front into the mail slot on his front door. Then just blast the hose and walk away chuckling. By the time he gets home he'll have a brand new swimming pool in his living room.

    Sometimes it's really wierd seeing pictures of/meeting people that you know onlyby a screenname. When you see their picture and it doesn't look ANYTHING like you thought they would it's like finding out santa's not real.

    It's similar to seeing a picture of a radio personality for the first time... you listen to them and you form this image in your head of what they should look like and then BAM, your dream is dead.

    That being said, you are one of those cases Socal, 100% opposite of what I thought.
