You should at least consider taking 3 months and traveling around Europe. If more interested in Asia, S. America, or Australia, same thing goes. Once you start working you will be lucky to get that kind of time to travel.

I didn't go abroad until I had a job opportunity later in life to do so. Spent 1 year in Brussels and 3 years in London. Now I am semi-retired and living in Lithuania, lucky I have opportunity to travel again, but with family starting soon will be hard to do again soon enough.

this. or if you have $$ go travel for 3-12 months. actually just go travel first before grad school because you most likely will not be able to have a large amount of time to live in another country for awhile. or ever
  9. I applied for the JET Programme, which is a program where you teach English in Japan for a year, and ended up moving there for 5 years and loving every minute of it... applications are due 1/1 and there are similar (though less-prestigious, less well-compensated, and generally less well-run) programs in other places, like EPIK in Korea. Or you could just save up some poker money and backpack around Europe for 6 months... another awesome life experience.
  10. Major is International Studies with a specialization in security and intelligence. I am getting my passport over break and plan on going to Spain for a little after I graduate to enjoy myself. If I could get a job over there that would be great, but there is like a .01 percent chance that happens. Ugh, the real world sucks and I am not there yet.

Wow, I wonder if the CIA is going to turn up this thread in your background check when you finally do apply. That would suck to get TD'd for some shit you posted on OT.

  15. I backpacked around europe for a couple of months, i would def recommend it. not only europe but wherever u want to go, just take some time away from everything and travel for a few months to a year or whatever if u are able to. u have earned it, i would def not jump right into a serious job. gl w whatever u do.

  16. another thought, if u are going to spain, i dunno if u have any bartending experience, but if not take a class possibly and go that route, ppl always need good bartenders, and if u make a good impression on somebody i would think u would be able to find a job to hold u over til u decide what u wanna do long term.
