Don't know if it's a re-post, but...
Best album of the decade:

The rest of my top 10:
1. The Strokes - Is This It? (2001)
2. The White Stripes - White Blood Cells (2001)
3. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (2008)
4. Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News (2004)
5. Radiohead - In Rainbows (2007)
6. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion (2009)
7. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002)
8. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Howl (2005)
9. Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004)
10. Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People (2003) -
You realize the decade ended last year right?
-
Lateralus?
-
Decade ended last night...2000 was the end of the previous decade. The gregarian calender, which is what we use started with year 1. So years 1-10 (1991-2000, 2001-2010, etc) are decades. Thus any submission for this in the year 2000 would fall under the last decade.

I think my favorite was Revolutionary Vol.2 - Immortal Technique
-
pretty pathetic list. Rock is dead
-
Good list, but you have the wrong Arcade Fire album on there
-
Between the Buried and Me - Colors

Here's rateyourmusic.com's top 100 of the decade

I hardly ever listen to rock made after like 1985 because it's just so bad. Here are some albums this decade that I really liked...
Deftones - White Pony
Rush - Snakes and Arrows
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next and This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In
Mastodon - Leviathan and Crack the Skye
Metallica - Death Magnetic
Megadeth - The World Needs a Hero
Probably a few more I can't remember -
The Marshall Mathers LP is ranked 377th on that list...get that shit out of here

Lady Gaga is the correct answer. Doubt anyone had more of an effect on the music industry in a long time.
-
I haven't listened to many whole albums from last decade so maybe my opinion is moot, that being said I think The Black Keys deserve a mention, any album really, all of them are good, raw rock and roll. Also, Modern Times by Bob Dylan.
-
My fav would prob be Chutes too Narrow by the Shins but your list is pretty good. Maybe include Vampire Weekend -Vampire Weekend

I think all Arcade Fire is great but Neon Bible is their best album. Here is my top 5 but probably would be different if I thought about it a little more.
1. Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
2. Radiohead - Rainbows
3.Minus the Bear - Highly Refined Pirates
4.Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
5. Spoon - 5x Ga
Reason: wrong Radiohead album -
Crippled Black Phoenix - 200 Tons of Bad Luck

The Suicide File - Some Mistakes you Never Stop Paying For
Clutch - Blast Tyrant
Propagandhi - Supporting Caste
Please Inform the Captain This is a Hijack - Defeat or Humiliate The United States of America
Bright Calm Blue - A direct Approach to Casual Conversation
EastStrikeWest - Wolvves
Transistor Transistor - Erase All Names and Likeness
Kiss It Goodbye - Choke
xNueva Eticax - Inquebrantable -
Radiohead - Kid A
-
Really sucks that indie rock always seems to dominate lists like this
-
pretty sure enjoying kawk is a prereq for liking Radiohead.
-
I think these jackasses pride themselves on listing bands that noone has ever heard of....
-
There is definitely an 'elitism' at work in these sorts of lists - pretty sure if they could find some album that sold zero copies, they would be racing to their keyboards to praise it as the greatest work of the century.
