    Every country cheats to some degree. Well at least the athletes do. We have just been bad at covering it up lately is all.

    Lance Armstrong was probably the single most tested athlete in the history of sports, and not once did he ever test positive for any banned substance ever.

    Putting his picture in there is really a slap in the face to all that he has accomplished, especially considering the obstacles he had to overcome. He is the definition of working hard to succeed.

    Yep, and it's sssssooooooo easy to beat the system when it comes to drug testing in cycling.

    And yet, when there is smoke, there is usually fire. Is there any other scandals with Lance Armstrong other than in France. I know he has eluded to the fact that the French hate him. That might be true, might not be. Just, so many athletes have claimed their innocence, and so often, it turns out that they did cheat, it's hard to give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

    Also, I don't think it's a distinctly American thing. With Marion Jones, there was a story on how the person she beat in the 100 meter dash for her gold actually faked a car accident to dodge drug testing a few years later. So, the trick might be just to assume that most athletes are cheating, and try to find the ones that aren't.

    Well thats fair enough, I thought we were talking sports.

    And lordxixor and others who feel the same way about the "where there is smoke there is fire." That's not ALWAYS the case. Sometimes, the smoke just means there is a witchhunt.

    I don't understand how anyone can claim the man cheated after he was tested probably thousands of times and never once tested positive. If by "smoke" you mean "media sensation," "french people hating him," "witch hunt," and "bullshit," then sure... i believe you. But the facts speak for themselves, he never tested positive ever.

    I dont even understand the wrestling pic, how do you cheat in something staged?

    Pretty sure that plenty of other countries have cheated ie east germany and such, but it probably all comes from cheating in school in the US. For some reason I would imagine we have higher rates for that.

    But seriously, all athletes cheat in sports like tour-biking and track(well mayb not long distance runners from Kenya). Also few years back there was a huge doping bust in Italian Serie A(top soccerleague) so it's world-wide thing and in Finnish Cross-country skiing.

    Do you consider it cheating if you have access to a new type of supplement (or other peformance enhancement, ie blood doping, etc.) that is not yet banned by your sport? Even if you know it will probably be banned in the near future?

    People know the difference between right and wrong behavior. It is their decision as to what action to take that defines their character.

    He quit using them at the time baseball banned them.

    Baseball did not test for steroids, nor were they banned, prior to 2004, maybe 2003, I can't remember.

    I think it is just that the USA is under the radar scope right now. Every country cheats to some extent, but it seems here recently we have been caught up in a lot of shit. As a pro athlete you have to know what you are putting in your body.PERIOD. To say you didnt know is either B.S. or the person being a pure dumbass.

    Supplements that are not yet banned are alright, just have a plan of attack when that one gets banned. It seems like everything is getting banned these days.
