    University of Washington had a free preview showing tonight

    The movie is basically a Black Scarface

    Denzel gets the oscar for best actor.... Thought he was amazing in it.

    Movie is kind of long at 2 1/2 hours, but the story line is amazing

    Must see

    My guess is you went to some advance showing? They have them around the city sometimes too.

    I cant wait to see this movie. Looks so good.

    Someone posted in another poker forum that the reviewer copy is available on the net.

    Most people seemed to want to wait and see it on the big screen, such as myself.

    Looks kind of like a 2007 Scarface, but not nearly as cheesy. Everyone that talks about it so far says it's great!

    It is very good.
    I just saw it off a burned copy.
    I'm still going to see it in theaters though, just for the experience.

    Personally can't wait to see it, and I'm sure it'll be FUCKING FANTASTIC.

    I love Scar Face, but seems like a different movie. Sure, power, greed, corruption, etc. but you can name a lot of movies like that (Casino, Bronx Tale????)

    just downloaded it burned it and watched it this morning. Pretty good, not what i was expecting but still good.

    How much does anybody want to bet (within reason) that Denzel does NOT get the Oscar.

    And Scarface sucks.

    Brokeback is a MUCH better film than Scarface. Scarface is just a really, really poor movie. I do understand the obsession with it, and it's perfectly okay if you love it. I just hate it.

    what's funny about this movie is that frank lucas was looked at as an idiot and hick by other black gangsters in his time.

    the true bad ass motherfucker of that time was nick barnes... if you want to learn about him read the book... mr. untouchable... it's awesome.

    that being said i'm still gonna go see this movie, it just bothers me cause i've read alot about lucas and they moviefied the shit out of him.

    new jack city, paid in full and the song bad bad leroy brown are alla bout nicky barnes.. also a ton of hip hop song.

    Scarface is a 2-star movie at best, but it has a considerable cult following especially in the rap community and is often overrated. Carlito's Way for example is a much better movie than Scarface.

    Also, the black Scarface= New Jack City. Hopefully American Gangster is a little better than Scarface and all the copycats it has spawned throughout the yeras.

    1) Scarface did suck. It does not deserve the hype imo.
    2) Can't wait for this movie to come out, I'm affraid my expectations might be too high tho.
    3) Bubba, what movie was DDL in this year (sorry not a movie buff)

    DDL is gonna be in There Will Be Blood which is the new Paul Thomas Anderson movie coming out later this year.

    The song "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown", by Jim Croce, is not about the guy you are referring to. It was written about an Army buddy Croce had who went A-Wall and moved back to Chicago.
