Heres the formula for an AGT episode
-Have one really arrogant person that bombs
-Montage of acts that got through but won't get air time
-Before commercial cut to clip of dangerous act and show Howie or Sharon covering their eyes
-Ugly person that can sing Nessun Dorma really well
-Embarrassing fat/ugly/flamboyantly gay person do a dance routine and fail... Insert Nick Cannon joining the person on stage and start dancing with them... Judges pretend to laugh like it hasn't happened before. -
Last night's episode was pretty boring. If Howard doesn't start acting like Howard instead of playing straight then I'll most likely be done with the show. The acts themselves don't keep me interested even though a few are pretty good.
-
Howard Stern sucks
that is all -
Just another useless reality show IMO. I guess even the Hasbeens need outrageously paid gigs to see them through.
Not trying to be funny or trollish but really? If it weren't for sports I would toss the Tv out the door.
Things are so bad on Tv right now anyway.
A&E has been showing the same 10 episodes of storage wars over and over and over. I am realizing these specialty channels are not that special. -
never watched it before but watched both episodes bc im a huge howard stern fan...even howards personality and humor arent enough to keep me watching this heaping pile of shit...whats with giving standing ovations for terrible acts that display 0 talent?
oh and as usual preston luv is wrong...that video u posted is of the guy who won? lol what a joke that guy is a slightly above average singer...the final 3 people on american idol this year are 1000000x better then that guy...that guy probably would even make someones team on the voice
but ya this show is terrible..nick cannon is a douchebag...there were like 2-5 decent acts over the course of 4 hours of tv imo -
i'd enjoy the show more if it was good acts only and not all these fat guys on bicycles playing a horn and shit. I find no humor or enjoyment in watching that part of the show. and once ive seen all these people once im not sure I have any interest in seeing them again and again in Vegas. Except maybe the earth harp guy!
-
Yeah earth harp guy I can see again. He makes his own instruments so I wonder if he'll bust out some new shit in Vegas.
-
as someone who has watched the last two seasons, it gets better. these episodes are pretty stupid just like all other contest shows. once it gets down to the top 10ish theyre all pretty cool, but really theres only 3 or 4 that you will really enjoy. last year every week i luminate was really good. i also liked anna graceman and a few others. year before fighting gravity was the shit.
-
Phew, I thought I was going crazy thinking that the video posted wasn't all that impressive. Obv better than I can do, but then again, I'm not trying to win a singing competition. I thought he was as you said, above average, but not as mind-blowing as the guy made it out to be.

Glad I'm not the only one. Maybe he was really good with other songs. That one wasn't that good. -
Is that guy the one who invented the earth harp? I remember seeing it in Burning Man last year but it wasn't him playing it.
-
Clearly didnt watch the Season Landeau definately rocked it out made leaps and bounds and is a fabulous crooner IMO. Yes Idol singers are good but the whole Eugene aura was amazing. Even tho I would;ve prefered Team Ilumminate

I have never watched this show more then a few episodes in the past. So ive never seen any of the winners.
Are they any good, and can you actually go see them perform in Vegas? -
i would 100% go see fighting gravity and Illuminate in vegas. im pretty sure that dance group that wears the mask was on one of the seasons too(forget their name). but most of the end acts are usually singers and while good, i would prob not see them in vegas. might be a few other acts im forgetting about that id see, but usually theres only 1 maybe 2 acts a season that would be worth payin 30-40 bucks in vegas to see
-
Don't watch the show but watched that performance of Landau. Now the voice was good, but I didn't think it was spectacular or anything special. Little cheesy song choice, cheesy choreography (the little punch to his own face). But I got to thinking - probably what separated him from most singers is that we see and hear very few people performing in the baritone or lower range. Most male pop singers have tenor to alto-tenor ranges. Now many of the classic songs (Sinatra, Dean Martin) were song in the lower register because those songs sounded best in that range. Rock and pop comes along and you Frankie Valli singing falsetto 2 octaves higher than most men sung at before hand.
So maybe it was the throwback style he had (I didn't watch any other of his performances), but I don't think that he would be successful for a long term pop or rock career. Maybe Broadway, maybe Las Vegas shows, but definitely not mainstream. -
LoL at "Noel Bieterman one time".
Shit is never gonna happen but whatev. Huge Howard fan over here... -
I liked the opera guy too. That being said, I know some opera fans and they always trash the opera people.
I can't tell if they just know, or they're just being snobs. Now it's in my head whenevr I see an opera contestant. I always doubt them because I don't really know what I'm watching.
I now have 2 reasons to hate my opera loving friends. -
Who has opera friends? wtf

Edited By: Prestonluv May 18th, 2012 at 02:35 AMyou know i have been thinking...most posts you make are filled with negativity and hatred. You constantaly type like you are yelling(might as well type in caps imo). People ride your cock sometimes because you can be funny in your hate filled posts. Maybe you should lose your password(taking a line from you) and chill out. Even someone like me has mellowed out with time on this forum. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.Originally Posted by Jsup

This guy won in 2007 and has a show in Vegas. I went with my family to see him a few years ago.
