This includes Lou Holtz and Beano Cook at a minimum, there may be others. Get these fucking assclowns who are 20 years removed from knowing anything remotely relevant to present day football off the air and off ESPN.com.

if 97-93___63-60 picked them, i bet it would happen. fml

I cosign with OP. Fuck oldtimers.

Listening to Lou's lisp makes me want to punt my dog

i never take either of the two seriously. mark may had pitt on BCS buster last year preseason i believe and that ended after game one. lou holtz this year with ND in the championship, i thought it was just because he coached there.

kids these days and no sense of humor -
Lou Holtz plays devils advocate. He is basically skip bayless for college football. He just says stuff he doesnt really believe to make the show more interesting and so him and Mark May dont just agree on everything. Dont take everything he says so seriously. Lou knows whats going on. He is really just screwing around 90% of the time. Him saying Notre Dame would win it all doesnt really mean anything. He's just trying to support his old school.
-
they are best friends, id believe Ed....but then again, he could be playing devils advocate to spice up p5s ot. He dont wanna cosign with all da Lou Haters, but really he hatin even tho they best fuckin friends

Yea mark may said that ND would be 0-6 to start weis's first year at notre dame... they only lost 3 games that year. Mark may is so much of a domer hater that lou has to give them respect to make up for mark's "hatin"

If Lou gets fired for being a homer for a school he was a legend at and led to the promised land more than any coach needs to to be considered a great, all the Iowa homers posting about their guaranteed national championship for the past month should also be banned from posting in football related threads for life...

Really? Did you really just equate a job as TV analyist to posts on an internet site? Sick level brah, you got me.

And for the rest of ya, a TV analyst job is no place for homers and picking an obviously inferior team for the NC game is not "playing devil's advocate". If I picked Houston for the NC game, am I playing devil's advocate to those who say they have no chance? No, I'm acting like a fucking idiot who is completely clueless.
Mark May goes over the line sometimes with USC, but at least USC regularly makes it to NC games and is in the discussion at the end of the year. Expecting them to re-load with the first rate recruits they get isn't nearly the stretch that putting ND in that game is, after their only BCS appearance the last 10 years was a joke to begin with and they got throttled.
