As a huge Chiefs fan, I am already worried about our season. It's caused many fellow Chief's fans to start rooting for a poor season, even calling for a "Suck for Luck!" campaign. I was wondering if he's really all these guys have built him up to be in their minds.

Before preseason started...based on Media..I was thinking we (skins) were gonna be in line for Luck..and I was VERY ok with having a shitty year if it meant Luck in '12.
But we are not gonna be the worst team this year and that makes me sa..happy.
So your answer is YES.

and cassel is well cassel, if we win like 3--8 games and don't make playoffs, then ill be pissed at the chiefs for not just tossing the season and finally after well shit when was the last time the chiefs drafted a franchise qb that was legit?
stanzi maybe in a few years but before that did we ever? trent green, joe montana, len dawson and lol matt cassel all bought. id like to see the chiefs get a legit franchise qb from the start for once
but you know what the chiefs will do if they win the suck for luck contest right?

chiefs and USC fan here bro and i feel your pain but i doubt we'll be bad enough to get luck. seen luck enough to say that the kid has it all: makes all the throws, accurate, great pocket presence, and mentally strong. this really is the make it or break it year for cassel. if he plays well, we can grab one of the top OT, WR, or ILB in the first pick to replace BRich, Bowe (if he leaves) or Belcher. Matt Kalil or Vontaze Burfict both of whom play out west would be tremendous picks and instantly make this team better. if cassel fails though we will be bad enough and have the excuse to draft luck, landry jones or Barkley who absolutely has what it takes as well.

I'm pretty sure i said "if". I didn't say for a fact they aren't in contention, but right now factors show that will have a hard time getting into playoffs unless we win our division. To many solid teams in the AFC. Plus Manning is out for at LEAST 2-3 months. Even if he comes back in early-mid November is it really worth it to bring him back if hes not close to 90-100%? BTW even if Manning doesn't come back, I still don't think we will be the worst in the league.

don't want them to throw it, but the loss of berry is similar to when the steelers lost polamalu. I'm NOT comparing berry to polamalu, simply comparing their importance to the team. the steelers are stacked on D but still struggled without him because he's a HOFer and can't be replaced. the chiefs are far-less talented and our backup safeties might be the worst in the league, and our pass rush isn't good enough to make up for that loss.Originally Posted by AMARTIN1181

also, our new OC called probably the worst game i have ever seen at any level of football. the loss of moeaki is huge (he was cassel's safety valve), cassel looked awful in preseason and in game 1, and our RB's have come down with a HUGE case of fumblitis not helped by a porous offensive line. haley royally fucked up in not conditioning and working these guys hard enough in the preseason. it may take a few more weeks for them to recover, and by then we'll be passed the easy part of the schedule, and heading towards the nightmare part of it. I hope we can save the season, but there is really nothing to be optimistic about right now. -
Ahhhh, only thing Colts fans can take from this season is the chance at drafting Luck. They gotta be the favorites considering their defense is built to play w a lead solely. Then the next step is how long do you keep Luck on the bench if Manning is healthy and has a potential 5 year window left? My gut says the Colts/Manning/Luck will handle things professionally but alot believed the Favre situation would too. Im all for seeing this problem down the road!
