  1. It's an AL only 10 team 5x5 keeper league, I'm currently in 2nd, and have been offered the following trade:

    I get:

Eddie Guardado, Ichiro Suzuki, Jim Thome, JJ Putz, and Toby Hall.

    I give up:

    Dustin Pedroia and Scott Baker.

Is this just an obviously one-sided trade in my favor? Obv Putz is injured but coming back soon.

He is somewhat giving up, although the trade will solidify his pitching a bit and both guys I would give up are keepers. None of his players I would get are attractive as keepers, either based on salary or service time.

Should I try to get more, or just accept this?

    Thanks in advance...

EDIT: Oh, another question. Do you think i should try to trade Milton Bradley for a good, undervalued outfielder?
  2. Would help if we knew the rest of your team, but I would say no because Pedroia is the man and the players you are getting don't look like amazing keeper league stuff for the long term. Ichiro will continue to do well with his many runs and SB and Putz is a big question mark. I like Pedroia and Baker.

  3. I can post it if that would help, and agree about the offer not being keeper-rich. It would be about winning this year. Obv Hall and Guardado are just throw-ins for depth, and it boils down to Thome/Ichiro/Putz for Baker/Pedroia. It seems like Pedroia and Suzuki will be a wash for the rest of the year at worst, and I could use the help in the bullpen assuming Putz returns healthy-ish into his closer role. I definitely love Baker and Pedroia, just wondering if this might be a case of being able to sell them high.

  4. Anyone else? It seemed like a no-brainer to me when I first considered it, but Leets recommends holding onto Baker and Pedroia. Thoughts? How about trading Bradley?

  5. i'd hold onto bradley, and lol at one thinking loewen is coming back and two that he is any good whatsoever
  6. Agreed that Loewen will likely not be back. It's an AL only keeper league and he's in year 1 at the minimum salary, which is normally a good situation for a decent young arm (which he clearly does not have).

Bradley just has such a history of blowups/injury that it seemed like maybe I could get someone more 'stable'.

    Appreciate the input!

  7. trade him for evan longoria

  8. if this is a keeper league, im not totally versed on how those worked. but longterm id have a lot more interest in holding pedoria/baker than thome who is half dead. what someone else said, besides steals, ichiro and pedoria are somewhat a wash, and pedoria is more valued for 2nd base as opposed to can get anywhere OF.

it looks like you dont have a 2nd closer? but you should consider trading bradley alone for a closer in a 1-1 trade. than trade for an injured arm, on a team that just isnt getting the saves chances he was getting last year.
