anti-theft system replacement cost?

    The factory anti-theft system or whatever its called randomly shit out on me. I have to get the ignition shaft and i forget what the other part of it is called but if you know cars you probably know what im talking about. Also have to get my key re-calibrated. I was told it will be $600 in all with parts and labor. am i getting screwed or is this normal? any help greatly appreciated.

    Price sounds right. There are ways to bypass the shit and be done with it though. No more security system tho obv.

    Are they replacing the ignition lock cylinder (includes pass lock sensor)?
