  1. if there is a car accident and the driver at fault leaves a piece of personal property in the vicinity of the accident (not in the car), and its a bag or purse of some sort...if the police find it, do they have the right to take it, search it, and seize anything they find in the bag?
  2. not reading all that. Cliff notes please.
  3. Just tell them that the didlo is your girlfriend's.
  4. yes, they have the right to search the contents of the bag, and seize any illegal things that may be inside said bag... like weed, coke, X, naked pictures of Mr. Blonde... etc.
  5. what exactly would you do with lost property if you were the police? Would you not examine the object and its contents in order to determine its rightful owner? Would you not inventory the items and seize any contraband? One loses the expectation of privacy when one abandons property in a public place. Don't throw items in the garbage curbside that you don't want the feds to see either.
  6. Galt ftw. You are abandoning a bag in public and have zero expectation of privacy at that point. GL beating the possession with intent to distribute charges.
