one day i woke up and realized that PCs are the biggest piles of shit in the world, and especially laptop PCs. this realization coincided with my 2 year old $2000 sony vaio giving up its long struggle to make it (sent to the shop once, lost its wireless connection entirely, hotter than balls, fan whizzing so fast the table shakes, have gone through THREE batteries / battery packs in 24 months, battery life of 45 minutes [30 if i'm multitabling]) and died.
i'm a law student so i need a computer so i got one that i knew would work: an imac. holy crap it is sweet. small, great battery, great OS, dashboard, etc. got a free ipod as well.
but then it dawned on me: my online poker life is in jeopardy. i was drunk when i checked whether UB would work w/ a mac. i didn't investigate the "requires virtual pc" statement.
virtual pc is a $250 piece of software that gives you the "privilege" of running windows on your mac. thats kind of like having the privilege of playing donkey kong on one's xbox 360. evidently this program sucks as well, and crashes your cpu etc.
so anyone use a mac + virtual pc to play online?
i guess pokerroom.com allows mac use so i'm going to go there.
any other thoughts about mac's vs. pcs? -
Is it a new Imac? I had a g3 which was a huge hassle with virtual PC, but I got a new G4 and it works pretty well, almost never crashes.

yep g4. do you run poker software w/ it?
