I'm looking into starting up an online company w/ 2 other people..
I'm in the market for an attorney to set up the LLC, advise on legality of some issues in the U.S and basically make everything legit and protect my partners and I.
Figured I'd give OT some love before I went to some random local guy?
Anyone ? -
LLC is easy... don't need a lawyer... go S-Corporation or straight corporation if you want a lawyer.

Just order an LLC online, takes like 10 mins... obv you don't want to give away your secret but as far as legality, we would need more info. I am guessing the site is poker/gambling related?

according to my front door, my stationary, my business cards and a degree and license on the wall, oh and the State Bar, I may actually be able to help with what you are talking about

Depending on your idea, you may want to go to a lawyer with some expertise in online companies.
Corporations are easy to set up and shouldn't cost too much. But also put in place an agreement between you and your two partners so everyone knows exactly what their responsibilities and obligations are in the company. -
Setting up a corp is easy can do it on your own. But being in a partnership can often lead to some complex situations, such as if one parnter dies or become long term disabled, What happens if you guys hate each other and want to split or one side needs to move away? This is where a corporate attorney can really help you out because they can think of all the possible circumstances that might pop up. Def. worth spending some money to protect your interests.

I would go with slugger on this one. He is someone you can trust... -
my first reaction was to tell you to talk to slugger
but i see he has already answered -
I set up my own LLC for my company earlier this year. I studied how to do it on my own while also consulting a family friend that is a business lawyer. I highly recommend this because then you will know the ins and outs of everything. It is rather simple when it is a sole member LLC but getting into partnerships is much more complicated.
I would definitely consult a local business lawyer rather than talk to someone online, IMO. But do what you want. I'd be involved as much as you can. -
He may be someone you can trust, but he is also someone who can't spell "stationery" correctly.

I'm really excited to get this launched as I think a lot of OT'ers will use/enjoy it..
Thanks guys -
maybe he did use it correctly?
maybe when slugger is standing still, a little speaker turns on and plays a recorded voice really loud that says "i'm a lawyer! i'm a lawyer!" -
Ha, touche sir, touche.
