  1. I was in the phillipines recently and came across this badboy... does anybody know what it is? It was fairly big, maybe 6 inches or so. The body is about the size of a bic lighter.

  5. "The Himeyuri-no-To memorial on Okinawa commemorates 200 schoolgirls and their teachers who committed suicide in the school grounds, fearing that they'd be mistreated by American troops invading near the end of world war two. In the end, I didn't even go into the museum, because it was expensive and didn't seem to have much on offer, but there was plenty on offer in the museum grounds, about ten spiders anywhere between five and seven inches long!"

  11. yea but there are many different kinds of argiopes and depending on where they are they are shaped differently... it's just my best guess

does the web have the zigzag pattern anywhere?

the guess above is pretty good, could be a type of giant wood spider or "banana" spider
