I'm not very good or anything (mostly due to fatness) but would anybody be up for a match when I'm in Vegas next month. I'll be there from Aug 9-12 and Aug 19-27.
Any new restaurants open that are must visits (don't like fish or asian food)? Also where is the best steak place in Vegas. Craftsteak in MGM really good? -
I laughed.
para 1. tennis anyone I'm kinda fat.
para 2. anyone know where I can get some food. -
lolz,wp wp. I do love food.
fwiw, I've lost 10 pounds by only eating out twice over the last seven weeks.
thx beki -
I have never played competitively/seriously, but I have been fucking around on the courts at the park by my house... I am down for a match :)
-
I could play some tennis the 2nd time you will be out here is on my bday.
Depends what your looking for dinner wise. There are tons of places to eat obv. -
sounds good. I'll PM ya when I'm out there. FWIW I've only ever beaten one person in tennis and she's a 5-3 asian lady.
-
yea I'm pretty sure I will win based on speed/quickness/athleticism alone... I don't have a good serve tho, I just put it in play... we'll see
how much you weigh right now? and how tall are you? I am 6'2 175ish (haven't weighed myself in years tho) -
you still takin bets on basketball waco?
-
lol I issued the challenge last night and have had no takers... of course I am, I wouldn't back off
-
sigh
225
sigh
5-7
sigh
I do move really well and have some strength for a fat guy cut I used to pound out 6-minute miles and could bench 275 when I was 155. I thinkt your height is an advantage as well, but I might be talking out of my ass. Just seems like if I was taller I could get some more downward speed on my serve. -
umm, no... I can get to soooo many more balls than someone who is 5-7, 225

of course it is way more important than when 2 top players who have perfect technique play each other, but to say it is "nothing about athleticism" is pretty over-the-top... -
and he makes his return
fucking gold
well waco, at least the expectations for me are low. I'll make a wager with ya. are we playing two or three sets. you set the over/under on how many games I'll win.
Leet8s is right in this sense. If you can't place your shots, I'll have a shot to beat you. but if you can hit one to the back line and then drop one over the net, youll crush me. -
pretty sure I don't hit dinky shots tho... for having zero tennis background I am pretty solid

I would say up to college level, even if you are a fatty (like me), its much more about your technical skill and shot making than athleticism.
I guarantee you when we play my quickness will be a huge factor -
you couldn't beat me in any form of basketball, old man :)
-
I am a pusher, I think that is what it is called... I use my speed and quickness to get to balls and return everything safely, and force my opponents to make the mistakes... at least that is the strategy I have in my head, like I said I have never played a competitive match...
-
lol. if you've played somewhat serious against other people and have some sort of strategy already thought out, it sounds like you're gonna kick my ass. but I'm a glutton for punishment so ill back it up with my money if i get some odds. just think of it as a chance for a rich republican to get his hands on a poor liberals money
:) -
same deal as in the other thread, I will pay for the flight if you will gamble me 2x the amount
-
whoa whoa whoa.
I've probably gone outside and used a tennis raquet 25-30 times and all but two times I've played against my wife. I gotta dampen these expectations a bit here. I'm just gonna try not to lose 6-0, 6-0.
