  1. I understand that I might be alone in watching this, but if anybody else is watching, can they please explain to me what NIU just did?

They are up 31-20 with about 9:30 left in the 4th...they had the ball on Arkansas State's 45 yard line, and were facing a 3rd & 10.

They brought their backup QB in for the 3rd & 10 play, and ran a QB sneak up the middle. It gained 2 yards, and they punted.

My mind is blown while watching this...somebody explain??

EDIT--WELP...they were apparently just setting up that pick 6 for their defense.

    Still...that 3rd & 10 play is blowing my mind.

  2. Im as interested in this game as the national championship.

    Not a bit.
  3. Im not paying too close attention, but it looked to me they wanted to suprise them with a draw and get 6 or so yards and set up 4th down which they would then go for but then they didnt get enough yards with it so they punted. I have no idea why they switched QBs tho.
  4. yaaaaah not much else on after NBA League Pass ended tonight (along with the free trial *tear*).

flipped back to ESPN and this game was on...have NIU +1.5 and over 62.5 or something. need another score

i watched most of the 1st half and they used him early a couple diff times. then played a series and even scored on a rushing TD when the starter got hurt and went into the locker room before coming back.

yes he had a sprained ankle...however, he did not re-injure it before this play.

aaaaand...even if he had re-injured it, there is absolutely zero reason for running a QB sneak on 3rd & 10. the backup had shown the ability to throw the ball a bit...and if you want to keep the clock moving, then run the read option that he runs pretty well. he showed he could run a bit on the rushing TD he had to make it 14-13.

the whole play was just mind blowing...

and yes this was pretty solid...the old run for your life, chuck it 100 miles in the air, and pray...works every time.

  10. yea, who knows. i was just saying i guess they use 2 QBs cause dude was playing in the beginning.
  11. Chandler Harnish.....Tim Tebow's future backup
  12. Can someone who watched the first half explain to me when it became a rule you cant challenge forward progress. N.ILL faked a fg the guy got just inside the 12 and ended up getting thrown back to about the 17. The firstdown mark was at the 11 ---when Ark st tried to challenge it the refs said they couldnt. I understand what the refs are trying to say but ive never heard that before. Arent we always basically seeing challenges of where forward progress stopped on these challenges. Even the expert came in and said its definitly a reviewable play but when the refs said it wasnt ===he just accepted what they said.

It was at this point I turned off the tv,since I needed Ark State to win for the OT league. Runner wasn't even remotely close to the first down, at least a yard and a half short.
