  1. I recently picked up a single stage press and reloaded some .40 caliber over the weekend. I went to shoot them yesterday during my lunch hour at the range and they all went bang. It felt nice to shoot some ammo that I had personally reloaded. Just wondering if anyone else in OT reloads.
  2. And so begins the bfactor militia...
  3. it's something that I've been wanting to do for a while now and just haven't made the time to make it happen. how much is it actually going to save you?
  4. If you have your own brass, looking like 40 to 45% compared to cheap Wally World ammo.

  5. My arms never need to be reloaded
  6. good to know

    happy shooting
  7. I started reloading my own to many years ago to count. Started with a lee loader and a plastic hammer. For those that dont know the lee loader requires you to seat the primer with a hammer, load the charge and seat the bullet with the mallet again. Was kinda scary at first, thoughts of it blowing up inyour face come to mind.

I didnt have to load my own once i got married, my father inlaw is a gun enthusiast and has a every press and die known to man. He has enough powder, primers and lead to load over 100K bullets. We even used to cast our own bullets which is kinda neat. If you like to shoot alot you can save a boatload of $.

If you really want the most accurate firearm load your own. You can really dial in your groups with custom loads. Havent pressed any lead in a few years (havent had much time to shoot). Still have several thousand rounds of ammo so shouldn't need any for a while. You can bet if the big O gets back in i'm going to stock up.

there was discussion back in the Clinton era of an "added" tax to ammo and the associated supplies to reload. If Obama gets back in he will no doubt look to ways to increase the revenue stream and limit supply of ammo. I look at it as a way for him to kill 2 birds with one stone. He will no doubt use his presidential authority to bring about some form of gun control. High capacity mags will be the first.......
  11. Obama hasn't done shit about guns and won't do shit about guns.

I say we make all ammo illegal and let people have as many guns they want. Or we make guns illegal, kill a shit load of bears and start handing out their arms

  14. Some people say that straight walled cases like 9 mm can be reloaded 20 times or more.

  15. I've reloaded shotgun shells before. It doesn't seem worth the hassle to me now. It would make sense if I was shooting skeet but its like $5 for 25 rounds. When I hunt I'm lucky to use 2.

Also when we reloaded I was like 14. My dad left the stuff laying around. A few friends and I stole a bunch of gun powder from the reloader and made pipe bombs with co2 cartrages and some jet engine ignition thing from hobby lobby. That was really fun. Looking back I'm really glad none of us blew ourselves up.
