  1. I'm going to take my wife to vegas for her birthday at the end of march. It costs $550 per person to do the trainer for a day at the mirage. Is it worth it? Are there better things that I could plan for her down there? ...other that the standard 5 way with a hooker, Cher and an elvis look alike of course.

  2. So do you guys believe in angels? or...

I'd say $550 to do a trainer for the day in Vegas is well worth it. Fuck, usually costs that much for an hour with a good one.
  5. ^^^^

came to type something along these lines...skeeze beat me.
  6. I have, and it was fucking awesome, would do it again in a heartbeat. I didn't do the trainer for the day deal, did it in Cabo, think it was like 375 for 2 people, lasted about an hour.....

  8. My wife and I swam with the dolphins at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. It was like an hour to 2 hours. Can't remember how much it cost (maybe like $200/person or so) but it was well worth it. I would do it again. I'm sure you'd start losing interest at some point, so not sure about Trainer for a day. I would see if they have different options available. However, if thats the best option, don't think you'd regret it. Much better to spend your money there and have a good memory instead of one where you lost it on craps.
  9. Did when I was a kid in Panama City, my whole family rented a Pontoon Boat and was told where to go. Saw the dolphins and jumped in... in hindsight, not sure how safe that was.

Oh and it was fun, but not for a whole day

  21. I just flogged the dolphin.
  22. Have you ever wanted to BE a dolphin?

  23. That sounds like a shit-load of money. My understanding is that the US regs really restrict what "tourists" can actually do with the dolphins, but ymmv. In Cuba, my daughter had a blast. They did the whole group thing (4-5 swimmers) interacting with the dolphin for "kisses", "hugs", "tickling", and a couple things I must be forgetting. That took about 20 minutes for each group. Then, they went to a seperate enclosure where they got to deal with a pair of dolphins individually. First there was a "fin-drag" where the person grasped a dorsal fin with each hand while being dragged around the perimeter of the enclosure (250 ft diameter). Finally came the nose ride. The person lay on their belly in the water, feet spread behind them. The dolphins "bumped" their noses into the swimmer's feet. The swimmer then stiffened their legs. When the dolphins felt that tension, they TOOK OFF. The acceleration was such that full grown men were thrust to a vertical position standing on the dolphins nose/head while moving forward at a very fast pace. How fast? My daughter weighed about 100 lbs at the time. When she dove forward at the end of the ride, the impact with the water popped two of the clips on her life vest. I would guess that she was doing about 25mph.

    Dolphins are STRONG animals.

  27. Sounds rad. Have fun. $550 seems like a lot but I have nothing to compare it to. I never knew you could pay to be a trainer for a day.
  28. dolphins are the 2nd smartest species on earth, possibly even the smartest but we'll never admit it. We're just now beginning to scratch the surface of their communication and intellectual abilities. Do you think dolphins in the wild know that humans are the bad guys, or maybe do some of them know?

  29. Wifey and I swam with the sea lions in the Bahamas, was awesome, most of the people went for the dolphins, but I think dolphins are too commercial these days.
