  4. This is what I swing, and I like it.

  5. The best driver available is whichever one best fits the swing/game/aesthetic value of the individual swinging it. Go see yourself a golf pro and figure it out.

Same goes if this is still in line with your gift thread. Buy him a fitting session+$$$ to purchase a club. I'm sure $500 would get the job done.
  6. Travis Pastrana
  7. imo....get a club fitted to you...this is the only way to ensure the driver you are hitting is the "best" for your swing..glgl
  8. I like this one bc it's free

Then again I like anything Titleist bc it's free
  9. Not to derail, didn't want to start a whole other thread about it tho. For a brand new golfer very competitive and semi decent at most sports. I've golfed a couple times. What clubs would I want to have in a bag if I wanted to start playing alot. Also how much would a whole set cost approx?

    thanks

i was similar to u before i started golfing more, just got out maybe 5 times a summer/spring - now i get in pry 15 rounds give or take, i went to Dicks and got set up with nice driver, fairway woods, a 3 and a 5 - they're adams clubs, my driver is taylor made - then my irons are Walter Hagan, definitly a brand u dont hear much bout but there fine irons, and a putter

I think i paid like 900ish for all of this and a nice golf bag - i know my driver was like 130 originally marked at 400 - and many ppl seem to like taylormade - dont think mine is r9.

But looking back, id pry just go to a legit golf pro shop and get fitted for clubs, it might be pricier but getting customized clubs and pry good insight on whats best for u would be worth the doe

i got a hole in one this year bitches - 8 iron from 146

how long is golf season in Maine?? that cant be the best place for golf can it?

  11. thanks for the info man appreciate it alot, I think I will go to a pro shop and get fitted i'm 24 likely wont be changing much so now would probably be a good time to get fitted and never have to think about getting new clubs unless I really wanted to.

Maine is incredibly iffy and the weather is diff every year. generally you could play from may to later november. and maybe only 2-3 of those months you can golf with a T-shirt and shorts. Fall is beautiful tho. I just moved to Tampa Fl tho so i'm hoping to find a bunch of great places and hopefully get good haha.

  12. Getting fitted isn't really necessary unless you are going to take the game serious(I'm a golf pro).

You could go to a sports store and swing a bunch of clubs. Don't buy anything without hitting it and you feeling comfortable over top the ball.

    Beginner golfer=cavity backed clubs

Getting practice and experience is huge. If you are still all about the game in a year or two then get fitted, but right out of the gun is not necessary.

Buy clubs that are a year or two old, but brand new. Technology hasn't changed so you'll save a ton just by doing this. You can get a full set of callaway irons, a year or two old, brand new, for like $400-$600 Canadian.

Good luck. Golf is frustrating as fuck, but a great game.

  13. with all this land here. i need to get a club and some balls(never sounds good) and whack em around. make sort of a hillbilly golf course.with shotguns and beer and stuff. roast possum on the back nine
  14. The Golden Bear Persimmom model is hot right now.
  15. Callaway Octane is the answer. Came out yesterday and is by far the longest driver in golf. There is a tour model as well.

why is that' driver free? You work for titleist or know a tour pro? If you can get a 910 I'll have a shit load of business for you. Let me know. thanks
  17. Hostile the technology between X24 hot and X22 is a pretty big jump. More greatly than anything I have seen in the years past.

    what you trying to say?
  19. With what? The titleist club or what changed in tech?
My old boss has a 910D3 Proto with a Projext X shaft and he hates it.
  20. Yeah they're starting to get better again, but for the past 3-4 years it came to a halt. They basically just started making irons 2 degrees less lofted each so that ppl could hit the ball 8-10 yards farther than their "old" clubs, when in all reality they were simply hitting a club that said 9 iron but with an 8 iron loft.

However, for someone just getting into golf, clubs from 3 years ago will be more than sufficient for him, as long as they are cavity back. That and it would save him a lot of money that he could then spend on a couple lessons to get him on track.

Project x shaft is weak sauce, D2 Rip shaft ftw. How did he get it before the release date?
  22. Titleist Master Profoessional
  23. Bombsquadgolf.com

    You won't be dissapointed

Tour Quality everything. I had a tour burner and LT tour RAC's spec'd out a couple years ago. Love them.

P.S. I used to play a very high level of golf and still play a lot. One of my better golf buddies coaches Daniel Negreau and used to work with the bombsquad guys. Shit is legit

lol right? The new project X series fairway metal and driver shafts are amazing to say the least, hardly "weaksauce" by any means. Let me guess you like the aldila RIP because of the cool matte black finish and the little skull graphic? I hit the RIP shaft in multiple profiles(different weight, flex etc..) in 2 different heads and thought they all felt terrible. The tip was too boardy and the whole shaft felt void of all feel. It was honestly one of the worst shafts I have ever used.

Some OK options have been listed already but I'll throw a couple more out there; the PING g15 and the Adams speedline fast 10. These clubs are almost impossible to not hit straight, are very long and also very forgiving across the face. Adams, while not as big and mainstream as companies such as TM or callaway, makes damn good equipment that rivals any manufacturer out there. The research and development that they put into their products should be the industry standard, because they are leaps and bounds above the rest in that department.

You are clearly clueless about golf and I bet you cannot even break 80 to save your life....

you should read this thread regarding Adams equipment:

  28. I'm a Diamana guy. I have project X shafts throughout my irons and wedges, but I refuse to get rid of the blue board.

I hit my 910 D3 30+ times on my 1st hole, with different shaft options and it is by far my favorite Titleist head since the 905R (which I still hit).
