every time I think they can't get more redic they "surprise" me
Edited By: norcaljeff Aug 3rd, 2012 at 11:06 PM
no no, this isn't about old stuff like when they pretended bush lied about wmd's but dems that said the same thing didn't, this is recent
and don't get me wrong, repubs are hypocrites too (like dems now outraged that a rich person would try and be potus when john kerry was a great candidate a few years back... repubs also flip flopped by attacking kerry's wealth before but saying romney is good because of it. it can't be both, people.)
just a few quick examples:
so romney made a serious breach of protocol when he called jerusalem israel's capitol? outrageous! except clinton, kerry and obama all said the same thing when they were campaigning for potus. hmm...
romeny is bad because Bain did outsourcing? unforgivable! except obama invests in companies that outsource and many prominent dems invest in Bain itself! hmm...
romney won't release some tax records? Uphauling! except the dems saying he should (and implying he's a criminal) won't release theirs. hmm...
romney and richers that use "loopholes" are stealing from children! unacceptable! except when the kennedy's or Obama do the exact same thing they are just using lawful deductions and rules. hmm...
edit:christians that are against gay marriage are hateful bigots to be boycotted! except muslims that believe the same way can't be criticized for their religion! hmm...
repubs against gay marriage are hateful bigots. except obama has the very same stance*, and is a great guy. hmm...
*oh wait, that one's been resolved. lol
and on and on.
the worst part is that they do it because it apparently works. they look you right in the eye and tell you it's raining, even tho they are pissing on your leg, you see the peen, and see the stream. and people apparently buy an umbrella from them. it's amazing. it would almost be admirable (in an sell ice to eskimos way) if it wasn't so damaging
dems, when you see this stuff doesn't it make you mad, and disappointed? when I see repubs criticizing obama for helping mid-east freedom fighters throw off their oppressors it makes me ill, considering it was a good thing when bush did it. criticizing obama for not doing nearly enough would make sense (like how he's letting syria burn) but to criticize someone for doing what "your guy" did is the height of dishonest hypocrisy. I don't know if dems just don't care or actually can't see it
//rant
in before examples of repub hypocrisy that goofy libs will think I will defend (assuming they're real examples, of course lol)
ps don't get me started on the libertarian's hero who's is a bible-thumper who is against abortion lol
edit: sry for double post ldo
Reason: tl;dr etc -
Why do you insist on bringing Dyz out?
-
Didn't hear about this but Israel considers Jerusalem their capital, it is where the knesset is. The intl community does not recognize Jersusalem as their capital and all the embassies are in Tel Aviv. In reality, Jerusalem is where the government is. semantics
-
@ kiro. can't help myself lol. the bad part is pointing out facts makes waco and lvpd not like me while dyz could care less. :-(
zep, I agree. But the admin doesn't. well, after it did.

Yes their religious views have no place in government. And muslims should be criticized for their religion too if they were trying to impose their beliefs into law.
-
this thread is gay
both romney and obama are clowns
wanna bash em both with the nunchuks of fury -
Everyone knows kerry married money, thats encouraged in both parties. Unless youre name is mccain then its frowned upon. Oh wait. He is a republican. As you were.
-
Im surprised you didnt stop reading at the title.
-
no, I actually like a good debate and enjoy reading the arguments of the opposition, even when said opposition is not the most well educated. But you can't start with a statement that silly and expect people to keep reading.
It's like the 9/11 truther guy on here who's name I can't remember. -
So what your saying is that Bush knew that his advisers were lying about WMD, but went ahead and said they had them anyway?

sorry. if you want to debate people on WMDs, 9/11, The Kennedy Assasination and if we really went to the moon or not you'll have to find someone else.

I'm not starting a debate over well established facts. Good luck though. -
seems like a good spot for this.

let's pretend -errr- say for the sake of argument that bush did lie. therefore, the dems that said the same thing also lied, right? thus they are dishonest when they said he lied but they didn't. now you can address the other issues. woot!
-
Republicans are the masters of this strategy and have been employing it successfully for 50+ years. I think the Democrats finally woke up to the fact that it works and decided to join the game. Now we're all winners!
-
no examples? and dems just decided to start? whelp.
-
I had a beer called Blue Point last night - was pretty damn good. Is that considered one of those fancy craft beers you beer snobs are always on about? Or is that just swill that unsophisticated pallets foolishly think is good?
Oh, and OP; why do you hate hope and change? -
Dude, Repubs are the masters of spin. I'm not gonna go on a rant like you did but one example that comes to mind was Kerry vs. Bush and their respective war records. All you have to say is whelp? Are you ashamed? I'd think you'd appreciate the compliment.
-
actually, I'm voting for hope and change in the fall, my candidate just isn't clean or articulate enough to express his ideas in that way :-(
-
NCJ,
Why are you so desperate? -
Blue Point is a brewery. I'd have to know the specific beer by them that you had to give you a proper review. Most of their beers are pretty average, but their Pale Ale is not half bad.

so was it dishonest for the dems to say that national guard service didn't count? or that being a war hero was important (unless bob dole or john mccain were running)? same goes for repubs that flipped on the issue as well, of course.
edit: loool old growth still hasn't recovered from yesterdays raping. I don't blame him tbh. it was brutal lol -
kb got uppity, how was I supposed to kno-ok fine. it's about old stuff too lol
#stillbitter -
So basically your saying Republicans are hypocrites but the Democrats are worse?
If that's your point are you trying to convince me to vote Romney over Obama, or do you want me to vote for all republicans over democrats?
I only saw politics and social issues addressed here. None of that shit matters when a government goes bankrupt and it's paper currency collapses. -
that is a fantastic point. I totally forgot some more:

dems claimed:
Bush was "bankrupting our grandchildren" except obama has massively increased spending. deficit spending and the debt
bush bankrupted us with his wars (which obama has expanded) - Note, I'm all for killing bad guys and freeing people so I don't have a prob with this.. Iraq was about done anyways. but obama-supporters should acknowledge the dishonesty
the bush tax cuts bankrupted us, except obamaco extended them because it was bad to raise them in a downturn but now wants to raise them in a downturn because it will now help, or something. their redic back and forth on the tax cuts is very hard to unravel, and makes zero sense
obama wants the buffett rule so the rich will pay their "fair share" except the rule would only raise a few bil a year, if that
dems think raising taxes on sin items like cigs and booze will cause people to drink and smoke less, but don't think raising income taxes would cause anyone to invest or work less.
hmm... for all imo
edit: I'm all for someone who will actually address our financial crisis and redic FED spending, but "better" is better than worse imo. and we only have two viable options.
edit 2: I don't say vote all repub, take each on a case by case basis ldo. I tend to vote more repub, on a case by case basis, but I'm in sf, ca so it doesn't matter much what I vote for lolsigh
