  1. I'm not quite sure what to expect going into the year. I feel like it's either gonna be another fairly dominant season from Djokovic or there's just gonna be mad parity for the first time in a long time. I'm leaning toward the former, just because I don't think it's quiiiiite time for more parity. Once Del Potro gets back into form and Novak's game slips a bit, then I think we're in for a period where a different guy wins each major in a given calendar year.

For the Aussie Open, I like Djokovic, Tsonga, Nadal and Federer to get to the semifinals. I like Djokovic over Nadal FTW.

  2. Rooting for one last valiant run from Roger. +1 to not knowing what to expect other than Murray shitting the bed as usual.

Predicting a bit of an upset in that Nadal finishes 2012 as #1.
  3. Milos Raonic OBV
  4. The tennis rankings are so stupid to me.

Novak basically has nowhere to go but down unless he wins every single tournament of the year.
  5. Murray shitting the bed has become my favorite part of any tennis tournament. Also little heat emerging between Fed and Rafa http://espn.go.com/tennis/aus12/stor...erer-pollyanna

Forgot to mention him, but he's gonna contend in a couple years. He's still got a big learning curve tho.

meh - Federer said he thinks publicly airing complaints about the tour schedule is bad for their image, and Rafa said he disagrees. Doesn't seem that big a deal - they respect the shit out of each other afaik

couldn't agree more. they need several higher rankings than best player in the world. it is just such a vacuous distinction.

really looking forward to this open too. i think there will be a lot more parody this year, than there has since the early 2000s. All 4 majors may be won by just 2or3 people but i think there will be more earlier exits for the top seeds. i would bet that 2 of federer, nadal, djokovic don't make more than 3 semis this year.

  9. Federer was the biggest victim of that ranking system for years - it is definitely too brutal.
  10. Yah I guess my statement is pretty retarded when I look at it, but you guys get what I mean.

Novak could finish 2nd in 50% the tournaments and 1st in the other 50%, and fall out of the #1 spot.

    Brilliant.

I think we might be a year away from that happening, considering the US Open semis were 1-4 chalk. Just a litttttle more time needs to elapse before they fall juuuust a little and others catch up. Scientific? Not so much. But that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

    Brilliant.

there are very few scenarios where this could happen. If novak loses the number one ranking someone else will have performed better than him over the last year.

sure there are times, because of injury or not playing a full schedule, where the best player in the world doesn't have the number one ranking (see serena for large chunks of time) but this doesn't happen very often in the men's game.

even though he has to defend a lot more tournament wins than everyone else, and this can be mentally daunting, he is not at any disadvantage for being the number one player at 2012's year end.

  15. Every year just makes Federer's durability and toughness even more insane. Doubt we're gonna see another show up for every dance like him ever again.

that's not really true...the first part is, but the part about somebody playing better than him isn't.

and the fact that it's even a possible scenario should tell you enough about the ATP rankings to know that they're retarded.

  20. There's a lot of UK dudes on this board...is Andy Murray even liked there??

I doubt there's a single American that likes Murray...

loooooool Murray already grabbing the hammy to build an excuse for if he manages to lose this
  21. Murray is such a headcase lol

Grabbing the hammy, complaining about an obvious line call that he didn't even challenge it was so obvious...

  22. Troicki vs Ferrero. Line is -190 for Troicki and that seems low to me . Ferrero is getting up there in age and Troicki looked really good when I have seen him play but I haven't kept up with much lately

  23. i like murry. even tho hes insane.

Really surprised he didn't get bounced against Verdasco yesterday. I think he has alot of work to do before he gets to top 5 material. If he fixes up his conservative serve, I think he could be a huge threat. Give him another 2-3 years and he'll be there though.
  29. well apparently he just kinda played verdasco by faking tiredness but that smells a bit

definitely puting 3.37 for Stebe into a multi, hewitt blew it, tomorrows headline

I actually like Murray. He is always pretty entertaining to watch (other than all the moaning) How many 5 set matches does he end up having? What i hate is the press coverage of Murray here and all the douchey fans at Wimbledon. I love going to Wimbledon but i would not want to be on centre on a day that Murray is playing (or Henman when he was around) Just gets full of cunts who have watched like 2 tennis matches in their lives and have a british flag painted on his face. The funniest thing is though, when he is still in the tournament, he is British, but when he goes out, he becomes scottish and all the English people sort of abandon him.
