ya, as i said before, i have never had much of an interest in watching tennis, but i'm amazing at what these guys are doing: how quick they get around the court, how hard they hit the ball, how well they place the ball, everything. i don't have anything to compare it to, but like you said, every point seems like a race to see who makes the first mistake--very little/no margin for error w/ these guys. i don't have to know much about tennis to see that after watching for just a few mins.

Really didnt expect to Ferrer to do as well as he has. Really hope this goes to 5 so Djok has an excuse when Murray crushes him next round

Not sure what would piss people off more in an OT tennis thread, liking Murray or saying you dont like Del Potro
-
OT loves Del Potro. OT hates Murray.
not saying you were pissed off. Just always makes me laugh in every slam thread everyone gets all excited about Del Potro.
I like them both fwiw -
Yea I like them both, too, except I always find myself rooting against Murray for whatever reason. I root against him because I root for the underdogs, and it's funny when he loses his mind on the court. Then I root against him when he plays one of the Big Three because I love those guys.
Djoker too good tho -
Did I hear correctly? The Nadal-Federer match is set for 3:30 ET tomorrow afternoon?
If so, WTF? -
Murray and Djoker are the next night, prob also gonna be at 3:30 am
-
Would love to see what would happen if Federer were to hold form for a few more days - not sure how realistic that is at this stage of his career.
How sick a statement would it be for Federer to march through Karlovic, Tomic, DelPotro, Nadal, and Djokovic as a 30 year old? -
it sounds like she is giving birth everytime she hits the ball. so unnecessary.
-
I love looking at Sharapova but I have to watch her matches with sound off.
The match with Kvitiova was excellent. Maria won 1st set and lost the next one and was almost down 3 break points in a key replay reversal she ended up winning game and breaking next game to win match. Sharapova was definatly on ropes. Tough match and if you like screaming you'll love the Women's Final..
I watched tennis more back in 90s then now. I said the same thing about Sampras in his prime. I think only he compares. The game technology is different to when Borg/Lendl/McEnroe played.Originally Posted by heavyj80
it's truly absurd the level of tennis that the guys are playing these days. in order to even win a point verse the top guys, you have to play flawlessly.
i personally haven't seen any of the old school players in my life, and barely saw any sampras. but is there any way that nadal/fed/djok in their primes are not the best players ever? cannot imagine anyone > 10 years ago beating any of these guys. it's a treat to watch (mens) tennis these days. -
It is the same with any sport, so hard to compare players from different eras
-
lol Fed is shitting all over Nadal so far.
-
Fuck Federer makes it look easy!!
-
Anyone know what time the Murray v Djokovic match is on tomorrow? Same time as this one?
