  1. anyone have good advice for getting a new paint job on a car? i have a 2nd car that i've been too lazy to sell. my garage is small, so it has been sitting in the hot tucson sun for 12 months and the paint is a lil f'd now.

anyway, i'm finally motivated to sell it, so i'm looking to get it painted. i got some quotes from some smaller places around town for 2-3k. is that a good price? do those places like maaco and other national chains do anything other than cheap/shitty jobs or should i go to a place like maaco and save some cash? the car is in great shape otherwise, so i don't want to just put a shit coat of paint on it.
  2. macco sucks ass dude. do it yourself
  3. 2-3k rly?
wow i never knew it was that expensive. coulda sworn i saw a maaco ad that said like 500 dollars but i don't know
  4. right, 2-3k from shops that do good paint jobs or paint that matches the paint that came from the factory.

national chains like maaco are usually around a grand or even less

  5. Whatever you do DON'T go to Earl Scheib!!
  6. definatly thought this thread was gonna teach me to use MS paint.

    False Advertising.

  7. DONT go to Earl Scheib
    DONT go to Macco

Anything else, you are good to go.
  8. Macco isn't actually that bad if you pay a few exta bucks. $1200 there should get you a good paint job. For the $500 paintjob all they do is spray the car, they don't do door jams, or under the hood, or sometimes even the roof. However if you pay for it they actually do the body work necessary.
