  5. went back to back with avengers and 5 year engagament this afternoon...i liked them both a lot...avengers was pretty much non stop action from start to finish
  6. Just got home. It was awesome. A couple of the Hulk scenes were fucking fantastic/hilarious.

My gut reaction is to say it was better than Dark Knight. But if Maggie Gylenhorseface wasn't in Dark Knight, it might still be number 1.

In all seriousness Dark Knight had a better storyline but seeing the Avengers finally together on screen was pretty fucking great

Yea dude I kinda fell for it. I suck.

Watched Iron Man last night, thought it was great. Thought Thor was really cheesy but still enjoyed it. Falling in love with superhero movies, can't wait to see The Avengers, and watch the other ones I haven't seen.

What I don't get is why would you open this thread if you havent seen it yet? You're just setting yourself up to get spoilered

  10. this doesnt seem like the kinda movie that could be spoiled... some back stories play out, everybody teams up, some villain shows up, things look grim, hero's persevere, credits

At the beginning I opened it to see reviews from others, figuring no one would spoil anything and would just give their opinion on the movie. Then just got excited about it and kept reopening the thread. But you are right, this is the last post I will read until I watch the movie.

don't know if you saw it yet. but there were a couple of moments with the Hulk that I wouldn't have wanted to be told about. And I'd like to repeat how awesome they were.

Niceguy knows whats up. the crowd erupted in laughter. It was the high moment comically. I'm thinking of going and watching it again in 3D by myself.

When they showed Thanos at the end some nerd yelled out "its Krull!" I laughed pretty hard.
  14. Saw this today and was pretty disappointed. The movie is too long. There's a lot of action, but it's boring, predictable, filler action.

I love a popcorn flick just like the next guy but not when they are done as lazily as Avengers. I can certainly understand why people like it but the degree to which people like it astounds me. Some people think its as good as Dark Knight or close. Are you fucking kidding me? The dialogue was cheesy(that Germany scene made me cringe) and forced full of one liners. The plot was generic, predictable, and just overall not well done. Hawkeye added nothing to the movie. The action scenes were OK. Great for the eyes but it got to be repetitive and boring by the end. Not really impressed with these huge CGI battle scenes anymore anyways. Dark Knight on the other hand is a masterpiece that has a great plot, brilliant writing, some pretty awesome action scenes, and actually requires you to use your brain unlike Avengers. They are not even remotely close in quality imo.

Id say the same in reverse but If I did I would have no friends. :(
  23. What did hulk say after he beat him down? Couldn't hear because the whole movie theater was laughing and clapping. What happened after the credits? Movie grossed over 200 million in 3 days just in the U.S.
  24. Using ghost text to answer questions.... also f dams

    Hulk said "Puny God"

The end-credits showed Thanos being told by his adviser that attacking earth again or going after the avengers would be like courting death, to which Thanos smiled. From the Comic mythos, thanos has seen the embodiment of death as a woman and is infatuated with her. So this sets up the next Avengers movie.

  27. People didn't like this movie?

Solution: Don't go see comic book movies.

Obviously it isn't as deep or well put together as Dark Knight but from a strictly entertainment stand point I think they are on par.

It irks me when people go see The Avengers and somehow expect to be watching Citizen Kane. For a comic book themed action movie it absolutely delivers in every way IMO.

Its not like I went into it expecting a masterpiece or hating Comic Book movies. Off the top of my my head I have enjoyed the previous 2 Batmans, Spiderman, X Men, X Men First Class, Iron Man, and Chronicle(not a comic book movie I know). All of these are superior in my opinion to Avengers.
