Yeah, I took that 42.6k (minus the 700 buy ins to get it) and paid cash for my car and house right now. I'm on easy street, I was out of line.
Reason: forgot I paid off all my student loans too! -

good joke, so many college students are driving around in expensive cars, wearing the nicest frat b.s. money you can buy, all with mac book pros, 20 gig ipods, iphones+ blackberries, anything there parents can possible pay for, and giving them a shit ton of spending money every month which they blow on beer weed and fast food. and if the kids parents cant afford it, you can sure as hell bet most of these kids parents are dick deep in debt to make sure that their son or daughter has nicer shit than the next kid. a small majority of college students these days have actually finicial responsiblities. what planet do you live on? -
What kind of car do you have a lease on?

It wasn't so long ago that I was in undergrad. -
Edited By: FistFights Dec 17th, 2010 at 05:08 PMIt the most basic 2008 Honda Civic, my parents forced me to get a leased car, cant get more basic than that unless I were to get one of the ford focus shit wagons where my knees touch the dashboard when I put the seat all the way backOriginally Posted by tkeat1653

I don't even know what this mean. I was in a Frat with 70+ brothers at the time. Almost every single one of them worked and were paying for everything you mentioned themselves.

We had the nicest house on campus too tyvm. -
What OP a selfish jerk? Yes.
If I was the roommate, I would get revenge somehow. When I was a freshman, my roommate who I got along with great and is still one of my best friends, had his gf come visit. She flat out told me to find a different place to stay for the night, and they way she did it pissed me off. After talking things over with a mutual friend we decided to reverse the peephole in my dorm room and tell everyone on the floor what we had done and why. Had like 25 people outside of the dormroom after she came over. You couldn't really see much through the peephole but everyone giving him shit about it for the next 3 years was great. -
lol niceguy is being so racisttttttt.
bet if it was a white chic as her roomy he would say, "you were in the right, fuck that white supremicist bitch, she doesnt need to study" -
Get over it, people have rich families - who gives a shit what they get for free, most people aren't that way you just don't notice the kid who works for everything he has you notice the kids with the new free shit. I've worked for everything I have had in life so far and I'd rather it be that way.

i hate old asian women drivers

pretty sure most people that attend college have had this same experience. best play is to wait until it's over and then remark - well that didn't take very long.

Edited By: FenwayKing Dec 17th, 2010 at 05:48 PMOP clearly has spent way too much time in the Durham-Chapel Hill area. Just because it's like that here at duke and over at chapel hill doesn't mean that most college students live that lifestyle.Originally Posted by FistFights

Yes, everywhere, my generation is plagued with girls that consider themselves " classy bitches" and guys that request that their frat shirts are made from the t-shirts with the front chest pockets. this shit tilts me so much

I kinda agree with the people that staying a week in a gf's dorm is a little long. I would be pissed too if I was the roommate especially during finals. If it was a night fine, but a week, spring for a hotel in my opinion.

dude. stop being so concerned with who disagrees with you and shit. the entire thread people have been saying its been dick. its not because your FF. its because what YOU DID WAS DICK considering the circumstances.

please stop with your whiny self-pity about having to pay for everything. your coming across as that kid who has to let everyone know that he is paying his way through college and what a struggle it is. obv it fuckin sucks and its hard but millions of college students are doing it. student loans are unreal right now.
not really sure why you care so much about the kids that get their college life paid for them by their parents. i actually laugh at these kids because they are gonna fucking struggle so hard after graduating from being so spoiled. be happy you wont be one of those dudes. -
He is obv being harsh, but I agree with Niceguy. Finals week is an inconsiderate time to bum in a dorm room for a week with a roomie there. My Freshman year, my room mates girl came for the week. Obv I didn't mind that they were smashing, I would just go hang in another room, or go to the study room, but it didn't hinder studying quite a bit.
-
Can I nominate FF for the medal of honor for paying for shit he should be paying for if he wasn't a spoiled brat.
Not like anyone else who I consider normal does that. -
Couple thoughts.
1) lol at all you people complaining about this poor girl during finals week... FFS its college and they're freshman. I havent been in school for almost two years and I bet I could get at least a B in any of their exams with 24 hrs of review.
2) If op was an OT hero i guarantee the sentiment in this thread would be completely different.. Some strong values ITT
3) Gotskillz wins thread...
4) OP has no idea what hes talking about in regards to student finances. Plenty of people have to pay their way while in school and a lot of much more serious issues to deal with than paying for a phone and car. -
I would have played it the same as OP. I would have had the sexy time and then felt bad afterward because of:
1. the roommate
2. engaging in premarital sex
3. during intercourse I would be thinking of TKeat1653, Niceguy and FK and the inevitable E-Fight that was to come. The thought of an E-Fight would only turn me on (dare I say more than the touch of a woman) causing me to finish sooner than I would have liked to.
Then 2 hours later I wouldn't really care anymore about the awkward situation I put my girlfriend and her roommate in but I would pretend I care so I can post a thread in OT about it and get my weekly E-Fistfight on to get me more turned on for tonight's awkward situation I will put my girlfriend in. -

Fuuuuuck, the OP would shoot daggers from his eyeballs if we ever met face to face. Fist, you definitely are playing the martyr. Allow me the indulgence of outlining my educational story, and a little of my wifey's.
I had my school paid for, living/misc. expenses, time abroad and trips to paris/amsterdam/athens/etc, books, etc. You might consider that spoiled. I don't. I earned that support. Since my parents are both MDs, education is a big deal to them. And I was always rewarded for success. And heavily punished for failure.
Once, in the first quarter of my first year in junior high, fifth grade, I got a C in science. I was wantonly lazy in the class. My parents, and Dad in particular, were supra-pissed. After seeing a severe blow dealt to my freedom as a burgeoning tween, I was keen to not let that happen again. And then my Dad put in place a stratified reward system for scholastic achievement. I was a card collecting dork. So, my Dad placed at the very pinnacle of achievement that I could have his '84-'85 Star BBall card set, with the Jordan Rookie. I didn't get another B for four years. And graduated High School with Honors with a 4.5, have received a 99th percentile on every test (ACT, CAT, SAT, blah fucking blah blah) I have ever taken, without exception (ok there was one, the fucking wonderlic. I got like twenty questions in and realized I skipped a question, so all my answers were a line off. Took me god damn forever to figure out which one I skipped. Of course it was question three. So it ended up eating up about 2.5 minutes of my time finding the error, then erasing and rewriting the answers a line above. Still tilts me to this day, but still got into Mensa tho), and then graduated college Magna.
In hindsight, I think the rewards based experiment my parents ran with me was a success, given the results, described with exactly zero embellishment. And given their philosophy, college wasn't to be something I had to worry about paying for. College funds had been established at my birth that were understood all my life to go to college, pending my proving my worth to be allowed to benefit from their smart financial moves.
But, you say, Mr. Fistfights, that makes me a lazy spoiled rotten little asshole. I disagree. Two months after I turned 18, and I month into my freshman year, I started a residential contracting company and did a tad over 100k in revenue that summer. I drummed up the business for completion in the summer over the course of the spring. And I did that for three more years. In addition to taking 18 to 21 hour course loads, every semester. According to you, I and those people in college in similar situations to myself in school just sit around and floss on our parents dime. And thus why in the world would those fuckstick rich crybabies need any ambition?
My ambition is and was simple: Become my best self, and treat that as a categorical imperative. Part and parcel of that is the desire to justify my parent's investment in me and to make of myself a good steward of the blessings I have been given.
Now, are there kids like yourself out there who bust their ass to put themselves through school? Yep, I married one of them. And a year on from graduating, she just a few days ago received a promotion, which will see do well, over six figures. She's 75k in debt atm. That's a huge damned risk to take, seeing as how it took her six years to get her BSN, since a transfer, a marriage and a baby all delayed a bit. You think you got it rough? Trying doing 8 hour clinicals in the ICU or studying for pathopharmacology finals when you're 8 and 9 months pregnant. Instances like that prove a great deal about a person, and so my wife's current state is justly deserved.
There you have it, two people in a marriage, with similar drive and ambition to make the most of themselves. One with more a silver spoon, another with the grit to be able to work herself into a degree. My story should certainly put paid to your prejudices. There are pros and cons to each one of our journeys.
But for shit's sake bud, let go of your fuck the man, fuck anyone with any amount of money or small or large privilege I do not currently enjoy type attitude. The fucking grass is always greener, god damn frat assholes and/or nerds on their parents fiscal rolls all suck, etc etc
I mean, its not the worst ideational flaw in the world that one could have. Hell it can even be motivating and spur one to greater action (e.g. "Im gonna bust my tail and show the man a thing or two") . But if indulged too much, which I think you do, sets one back, certainly. -
So ABQ you earned that support? Cool story bro. What if your parents didn't have the money to support you? Then what?
-
Jesus AbnormalQ if u r so damn rich why don't u pay off your wifes loans
-
2 many fucking pussies ITT IMO...
dude wasnt trying to make anybody uncomfortable... he was trying to bust a nut.... he wasnt trying to make little AZN uncomfy in her temporary house...
these are the kind of things you have to be prepared to deal with when you live with other people... grow up or gtfo...
gtfo seems to be working for little azn...
