    I find saluting the flag about as distasteful as the salute used for Hitler. Be proud of freedom and individuality not some area defined by political lines on a map. I hold a lot more reverence for the Constitution than I do for the flag.

    Wait a second. Who salutes the flag? Military members? Certainly not civilians. I always take my hat off and I sometimes put my hand on my heart, but I don't think I have ever saluted the flag.

    I think this is a great example of an idiot repeating something he heard because it fits with his prior dislike for Obama.

    Smears are a despicable part of politics.

    Besides, there are plenty of substantive reasons to not vote for Obama or to wish that he does not become President.

    that story about him refusing to salute the flag is completely untrue. i do not have a link to said story, however i do remember reading it (possibly on p5s). also, he is christian, but has a muslim background because his father was muslim and ( i think) raised him as a muslim.

    um pluv i know u luv the united states and what it originally stood for, a coexisiting of differently minded individuals that all wanted equal rights to express their views without tryanny, but today speaking against bush can be considered terroist like and anyone who seems dangerous can get shipped off for interrogation.

    What rights of an american(any) have to be trampled on to say they've gone to far?
