The wildcard races are still going strong. In the American League, the Rays and Orioles are tied, and the A's and Tigers are within 1 game, and the Angels are only 2 back. (ESPN note: BoSox 5.5 back). In the National League, the Braves and Pirates are tied, the Dodgers and Cards are 2.5 back. Still plenty of games left for the cream to rise to the top. Staying healthy is key.

Go Diamondbacks!!!

Semi important series coming up Yankees vs rangers coming up this week, with Tampa getting hot the Yankees can't keep dropping games and they've had a shit ton of injuries and haven't been playing great lately. Dumpster on the mound tonight for the rangers.
-
Pretty big week for the Bucs. We have a 2.5 game lead in the WC2 spot, and we play 4 games against the Dodgers and 3 against the Cards, the two teams 2.5 games back of us. Our starting rotation is in danger of falling apart, but the offense could carry us.

RIP - hate it when one of the greats dies. That was one of the dudes that made Yanks/Sox what it is.

Pouring out some Moxie for another one of those lost in the struggle -
what a sicko catch by garrett jones. saved two runs and the threat of many more.
-
Gaby sanchez, whenever you can add a bat like that to the line-up you gotta do it...
-
Yea, Sanchez is kind of an irrelevant acquisition, he's just meant to replace Casey McGehee as a platoon guy against lefties. Not really sure why we made that move unless the team didn't like McGehee for some reason.

Steve Delabar is so good he struck out 4 chisox in the 10th inning

Apparently that's the first time in MLB history that has happened in extra innings -
And none of them involved Adam Dunn. Shocking.

Also for all you fantasy players out there, you should just pick up whichever pitcher is starting against the Astros that day. -
The luck dragon got Vogelsong tonight
-
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting seeing the Jays try to take Villanueva out of the rotation- think it's time to bury that thought and pretend that they never had it.
-
Sucks that Middlebrooks is out for the year. Guess Trout will be rookie of the year now.
-
If the Reds go 24-23 the rest of the way the Pirates will have to finish 30-18 just to tie. As long as we don't shit the bed we should win the division.

Anyone notice how ridiculous of a year Huston Street is having? He just went down after stepping on first awkward, but what a sick line
0.75 ERA, 45:8 K:BB -

Yes and very happy he was signed to an extension. Now he just needs to get back out there but Thayer will do well keeping his spot warm. -
Hoping for it to be Gregerson. Scooped him up in a roto league as Thayer was already gone.

I'm curious about OTs' thoughts on innings limits for young pitchers. I understand that being proactive and protecting your assets is a good thing. I'm assuming that doctors and trainers have a magical equation that shows how many innings pitchers should go in yr 1, 2 etc. for optimal health. I think some pitchers are fully capable of handling 200+ innings as a rookie, due to good genetics.
Bring back the steroid era imo. Healthier pitchers and more homeruns ftw. -
I think Valentine will serve his purpose if the result is weeding out the babies that are crying about him when they are playing poorly instead of looking inward.
They are crying because he left Lester in there to give up 11 runs? Cause he got embarrassed?
Need a pacifier?
