If you offered me the 21 year old centerfielder or the 28 year old first baseman, and told me both are currently above average major league players, you take the centerfielder. Not even close.

EDIT: His bullpen ERA has skyrocketed to 1.58. I don't know what was the primary factor in you making that post: a grudge against me or incredible stupidity regarding sample sizes.

  5. I'd say it is a coinflip right now.
  6. Wow...apparently I was wrong. My twitter is blowing up with posts saying that all Kemp said was: "Lets Go Dre" (Ethier was batting) and there was nothing said before that to irk the ump. If true, Angel Campos needs to never ump a MLB game again.

Definitely absurd to throw out a team's best player for barking from the bench. Kemp would need to threaten violence or unleash an F-bomb tirade against the ump for that decision to be at all reasonable. And if Kemp says something borderline, obviously you walk over and warn him. It's tough to judge the incident without knowing for sure what was said, and that info will be tough to verify I think.

  8. Well we know for a fact Blanton got tossed for saying, keep staring by the Home Plate Ump after he got the hook, so that is just as brutal. Not one cuss word or one bit of arguing.

  9. Harvey dusting the reds atm.

    Jynx.
  10. Kemp said more than that, Jesus take your homer hat off for a second Marc. This thread is getting ridiculous now.
  11. Gerrit Cole's line in AA tonight: 6 IP, 1 ER, 9 Ks, 0 BBs. God damn I wish the Bucs would promote Cole straight to Pittsburgh in September, but the Bucs FO is absurdly conservative with promotions, so I see very little chance of it happening.

  12. Just unreal if true. Grats on the W PGH not taking anything away from the Pirates- Jones crushed us and Blanton was ungodly. Boy do we need Ted Lilly back asap but with a competent umpire the game is a lot closer with Pitt still winning. Campos is the same guy who butchered that call on Tuesday when Walker tagged out the runner then dropped the ball while trying to throw to 1st but he called everybody safe which was just mind-blowingly awful. Campos blew a couple calls last night as well- just a total disgrace to the profession not only in his terribleness but lack of professionalism. If you have skin as thin as a piece of a per you prob shouldnt be a MLB umpire.
  13. int. walk shoppach, give up a double to the pitchers. damn bailey.

  19. wow, Tejada almost hit his 3rd career HR, that was close. lol Bailey throwing softballs

I started Harvey tonight in a league where I'm near or in 1st in every pitching category, but need wins and innings pitched. was real close to benching him, but figured maybe the Mets wouldn't get swept

Intentionally walking the 8 hitter with two outs. How much damage can Kelly Shoppach possibly do?

I know that feeling all too well. But the pitchers I'm banking on are guys like Nick Blackburn :(

Reds relievers have pitched 3 innings in this series. Idk why dusty didn't bail him out.

And krs, that's my point. No idea why they int. walked him there.

He hasn't given up 8 earned runs in ANY of his last 3 starts. Talk about consistency (just don't look at his last 4 starts).

  30. ERA is a misleading statistic, unless your ERA is nearly a snowman.

Harvey is still dealing in the 8th with a low pitch count...

EDIT: 7.2 it is, bullpen one time...
