I remember watching braves playoffs games in the 90s, mainly when the cards played them, and was shocked the stadium was half empty. Cards could make the playoffs 100 straight years and itd be standing room only every single game.
oh and I love the Braves, lived in Atlanta my whole life, and I have been to ONE game this year.....one.....
you mad at me for that? -
A Red Sox source has confirmed that the Red Sox and Dodgers are currently talking about a mega-deal that would send Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett and Nick Punto to the Dodgers.
In exchange, the Red Sox will receive five players from the Dodgers. It remains unknown what the breakdown is between prospects and major-leaguers.
Medical records are currently being reviewed. If the records pass muster, then the Red Sox still need to have both Beckett and Crawford sign off on a trade since they each have veto power. -
beckett and crawford have veto power. that's like a hooker being able to say no.
-
Reading where the Red Sox get Rubby De La Rosa (P), James Loney (1st), Ivan De Jesus (IF), Jerry Sands (OF) and possibly another top prospect.

Bill Simmons tweeted (jokingly when it was first announced that the Dodgers had claimed Gonzo) that "Dear Dodgers - we'll give you Gonzo, but you also have to take Beckett, Lackey and. Crawford. Cool? Let's call the deal in"
EDIT: Just read this comment - with Beckett and Crawford, Magic goes from having HIV to having cancer. -
"Though the deal may not go through in it's current 9 player form, something is expected to happen"
-
Lol dodgers, panic much? Even with those guys it's still the giants division...though this might help the dogs sneak into the 2nd wildcard.
-
Good enough for me. Love AGon but worth it to get Crawford and Beckett off the books.

Find out what drug the hookers like the most and give them a big bag of it. They'll say yes.Originally Posted by Niceguy

Now he's tweeting "I'm not jinxing this."Originally Posted by SpankyHamm

Gonzo out of Boston lineup as well -
There are actually a few nice golf courses in the la area, so I doubt Beckett vetoes the trade
-
You know how good it feels to take a huge shit after a large meal? Imagine taking a $275M dump. If this works out, which it probably won't just to tease us then, Boston goes from being financially crippled with bad contracts and a roster full of talent that can't seem to play together, to being able to rebuild and address the glaring need in the pitching department. Of course, they'll probably use all of the freed up cash to give Lincecum a 7 year, $153M deal.
-
Why would anyone want to go to the perfect 75 every day LA area when they can stay in the frigid northeast with assholes as fans.
-
Everything about this trade is awesome. The Dodgers are loading up, you could say
-
Go Diamondbacks!!!

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi
Source: #Dodgers have agreed to send Allen Webster, James Loney, Jerry Sands, Ivan De Jesus, and Rubby De La Rosa to #RedSox. -
Why do people care so much if another fan base doesn't sell out it's games? Such a weak put down of another fan. It's just stupid, doesn't take away from an individuals fandom.
-
Jeter gets plunked in the head. Sabathia throws behind Asdubals ass/lower back.
Cabrera winks at CC and puts the next pitch over the center field fence. That was awesome. -
Chris Davis has 3 homeruns with likely 1 more at bat left
-
Looks like the trade is agreed to by both teams, just pending approval now. Such a ridiculous trade.

Just glad i won't have to watch josh faggett games anymore. Welcome back to mediocrity shit sox.

Giants in trouble tonight, Heyward with a 1st inning hr. In the last 16 games the Giants have played, the team that scored first has won.
-
Pretty awesome deal for the Red Sox. They get to dump 2 horrible, huge contracts. They get some decent minor leaguers to improve their farm system, and they can just buy another team this winter. For their sake, hopefully one that meshes a little better. Never seen a team with so much talent that just can't win.
-
Yea, I don't like that. Not only that, we can't score at home. Not looking good.

Fucken LA just bought a team, so ridiculous. I can see Beckett being rejuvenated in the NL west with good parks and weaker offenses, Crawford getting back to his oldself, and Adrian Gonzalez keeping up what he does best. This ain't good for the Giatns...
