I openly spew my hatred about the White Sox and Hawk Harrelson and I can't help but think that there isn't some karmic retribution at work with the way the White Sox lord over Seattle.

may be mistaken, but im pretty sure since all star break theyve been crushing with RISP(maybe not crushing, but like .280.300)

  4. Wells just earned some of his money today bringing back a HR over the fence. About time he does something.

Really? So no more texts to front office management trying to get your manager fired?

What happens if you think a pitcher got embarrassed by giving up too many runs again? Gee, hope they can just let you get back to playing the game, you fucking baby. The Mickey Mouse t-shirt is pretty fucking appropriate.
  7. Some players decided to risk it and got popped for steroids. The Pirates decided to just go off them completely.

  9. Padres are starting Casey kelly tomorrow against the Braves. This will be their 16th different starting pitcher this year, to go along with their 19 different revilers. And they still arent the worse team in the majors, although close to it.

  10. Jays have used 26 pitchers from the bullpen.
  11. Tim Hudson: THE MOST underrated pitcher of the past 25 years
  12. I'm happy with a chop in SF......now on to San Diego where Bravos gotta get the sweep

You do realize the Padres have just won 7 in a row? Braves are my favorite team, all tho i only talk about the Padres in this thread (since someone has to), i really doubt Braves sweep the pads.

  14. oh a sweep will be tough for sure against a rollin Padres team but we just gotta take care of business against teams we are capable of sweeping. I just really don't want to play in this 1 game wild card crap

If you threw in the caveat of since he's been in Atlanta, maybe. I remember he got a ton of love in Oakland when he was pitching with Mulder and Zito.
  16. Any of you guys ever seen these really old home run derby's on ESPN Classic? They are showing one right now with Willie Mays, I guess back then it was just one on one as he is only hitting against 1 other guy. No fans at the stadium and 1 guy out in left field shagging balls and that's it. I didn't even know they had these things back then and I have never really watched guys like Willie Mays play before other than a couple highlights so it's kinda fun to watch.

Yeah, I remember watching this on ESPN2 about 5-7 years ago I think (it might even be longer than that). If I remember correctly it was on in the mornings about the same time as First Take is on now. It's funny looking at the batting gloves from that era, they look like outdoor working gloves. It's awesome watching all those hall of famers.
  18. 2012 Phillies = 2011 Cardinals ???????????????????????

maybe, but that was like 10 years ago. And back then we probably undervalued pitchers like Hudson because their era's were slightly inflated due to pitching in the steroid era. If u have a better answer for most underrated I'm all ears. Mike Mussina comes to mind, he's a sure fire hall of famer if u ask me, but a lot of people will tell u otherwise.

Tom Glavine got massive run when he hit 300 wins (lol wins) and is most likely a HOF'er. I think being a HOF candidate should probably disqualify you.

When they had 3 come back wins in a row of 7-6, 7-6, 7-6 (777) and their odds to win the world series were 75 to 1 I said they had a run in them. Coincidence leads to chance.

Dice-k also looked sharp today, someone is going to pay him this off-season.

It's tough to argue against someone like Hudson because he's a) still pitching and b) has been pitching well for a while. The other thing is, I don't think you can win a ring and still be called underrated, so that disqualifies guys like Matt Cain. Hmmmm, I going to defer to Hudson until I can think of someone else (if I can).
  25. lol holy shit did the dodgers get raped. $8 gajillion for a guy who's having his worst year and used to play in a band box, a crappy pitcher, a guy out for who knows how long, and what am I forgetting? a candy bar or something?

giants play 1 team w/a winning record the rest of the season (dodgers for 6. AZ is 500 but just made a throw in the towell trade). dodgers play reds, cards, nats and the giants. giants up 2 atm. just saying
  26. Man O's brutal tonight, bases loaded twice, no outs only score 1 run(on a walked batter). Baseball is weird.
  27. Day goes 1-2-3, bring in strop 3 straight singles. O's gave it away tonight.
  28. Nobody wants to start a new thread for this week?

  29. Seattle showing their usual run support for King
