holy shit, wow. oh yeah forget about the strikeouts, look at the winzzzz. that's what matters you guys!
  3. I would be really surprised if Lohse got more than a couple of votes. Im sure there are some STL homers that are dumb enough to give him a vote. I suppose Beltran and Holiday are in contention for MVP as well lol.
  4. holliday has been the hottest hitter in the NL since for the last 2 months not named buster posey. again, hes not there yet, but the way cutch is playing and votto not playing at all, he certainly could win the mvp if the cardinals make the playoffs.

and again on lohse, the only thing he is far behind in is strikeouts. i never said wins is the key factor, but the guy has a 2.64 era. Hes pitched twice in cinci allowing 3 er, once in colorado and got lit for 5 er, once at arizona with 1 er, gave up 1 er to the tigers. some pretty tough ballparks and he had 4 great outtings. again, pretty clear that its a two man race right now, but a few gems and a dickey and cueto blow up(yea, im kinda laughing as i type this too), he could get a few votes.

alls im saying tho, is i dont think lohse is the cy young. but i do think the cards have easily a top 5 staff in the NL, and probably the league as well. staffs i would take over ours(without carp, ill note those with carp i wouldnt take)

    nats
    giants
    rays
    A's(without carp)

outside of them, i really can't think of any other teams that matchup. the thing is, the cards 1 and 2 might be a little undermatched by other teams 1 and 2(dodgers/angels come to mind), but our 3-5 are so much better, and thats without carp. a 1-4 of carp, waino, garcia, lohse, and our pick of westbrooke/lynn for 5, ill take our backend of the rotation over anyone outside of maybe those 4 listed.

so who do you guys all think have a better 1-5 than the birdnals?

  5. Egads man, can someone apply the mute button to the St. Louey homer. At least bdubs did it as a funny.

The hof watch is on Trout, Trumbo and Castro.

  6. Maybe a month ago for Holiday but he wasnt anywhere near the hottest hitter in August. Probably not even in the top 20 for the month.

Oh yeah, don't even worry about kershaw or Gio or Cain or bumgarner or stephen goddamn strasburg. Lohse is there to pounce on it because hes got that sparkly era and only gave up 3 runs against the reds. no need to look at anything else
  8. Morrow has thrown fairly well in his first couple starts. He'll win the Cy next year. Ya that's right.

  9. If only pitt. hadn't slid so much we could have had an epic pgh"aj burnett"fan versus quiet"kyle lohse"winner match-up that would carve a legacy in OT's delusional homers' pantheon. Right along with Iowa's impressive showing the past few years, it too could have been that bad. We are the losers for not being able see it, we are.
  10. The Cardinals have the worst good offense I've ever watched. It's really fucking bad right now.

And qw, stop with the Lohse stuff...good year, but not Cy material.
  11. Curtis Granderson randomly gets pulled from the game after the second inning.

The way he left was weird. He grabbed all his stuff and left the dugout without saying anything. Hope it isnt any kind of personal emergency and everything is ok.

  12. Joey Votto returns to the Reds tonight from the DL.

They were playing above expectation without him. Wonder what they do w/ Fraizer. Play him, IMO.

Are you sure he returns tonight? He was playing with double A Dayton last night and it sounds like he won't join them until after this series.

    Right hamstring
  15. Edwin is crushing the ball. His homers are going into orbit. He'll make a run at the home run title imo.

You're right, my bad. I based my post on what I heard during the week but just saw this quote from Dusty:

“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Baker said. “But I would probably prefer that he didn’t. Simply because you want him really ready when he gets here in all departments. I just as soon he wait until we get home, play a couple more games, get his mind together so far as he’s not hurt anymore. That’s toughest thing to do once you’ve had an operation. Anyone who’s had an operation knows that.”
  17. Ya he might win it this year. I think that puts him 2 behind Dunn.
  18. wow QW is more delusional about the cards than he was about the blues.

  19. I remember about a year ago some Jays fans were willing to pay for Edwin's plane ticket out of town. Nickname was Edwin "E-5" Encarnasion.

    loooolll

I don't read NHL threads, but I'm sure it was awesome with them making the playoffs for the 1st time in forever...

quietwinner is a special fan. he is very, uhh, passionate, about his teams.

  21. I would love to see the yankees implode and miss the playoffs all together. A new era of baseball could be emerging.

just saw that HR today, holy shit, he should have been in the HR derby.
  24. Dude. E5 is one of the best nicknames in baseball. He's been grandfathered into it as far as I'm concerned. For a while it was "Triple E" with the third E being "error" obviously. But E5 is better IMO
  25. Loshe is getting shelled today
  26. wut? i heard that dude was in the running for cy young
  27. it wasn't as bad as I thought, had a few unearned runs. not a great performance though for Lohse

Sure Lohse gave up 8 runs a day after Dickey threw a CG SO, but Lohse plays in a tougher division so it's pretty much a wash.

  29. Guys, this dud only proves how above expectation Dickey and Cueto are pitching. If Cy Young Favorite Lohse can get shelled, then those lesser talents are due for some major regression.

Dickey has just had retard luck and that dipshit Cueto has just benefited from good defense. Those fuckers run like Bolt.
