    I searched "Strasburg" and didn't see the big news mentioned: Strasburg is going to make two more starts, then he will be shut down after his Sept. 12th start. I know the Nats' GM has been saying that Strasburg was on an innings count for this season, but it's still shocking to me that he's going to shut their ace down 3 weeks before the season is over when they are in the middle of a pennant race.

    I really don't get this. Why didn't they have him skip some starts earlier in the season (or pull him earlier in those starts) so that he could pitch in the playoffs? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills trying to figure out the logic of this (of course I completely understand the logic of having a pitch or innings limit for the season)

    Darvish has a 26/3 K/BB over his last 19 innings, and is perfect through 5 so far today. Him turning into an ace is the exact thing American League teams do not want to see.

    I guess it depends how you define 'fell apart'. Bloop just over Andrus' head, then Nelson Cruz misplayed a ball into a triple, and David Murphy makes a sliding catch but his glove falls off and the ball came out. So I mean, yeah, he gave up runs but it was far from falling apart.

    I mean, he kind of went from one of the spectrum to the other. Going from pefect to giving up 2 out runs in a matter of minutes.

    "Fell apart" probably isn't accurate, but if you were watching the game he was visibly upset after that called ball 4.
