he has 4 kids he wants to spend time with. he was pretty adamant that he is done, and Chipper isn't a bullshitter

The only thing that is going to hold Chipper from the HOF (and I 100% disagree with this) is that he's never really led the league in anything. The HOF favors people who dominated a single statistic over people who are very good at everything.
With that being said, he should be first ballot -
as you guys pointed out. the guy was just good. he was never dominate.
1 mvp and only 1 other top 5 finish. -
Compared to other 3rd baseman of his era, Chipper is head and shoulders above any of them. I'm looking at his Fangraphs page right now, it's pretty absurd. 8 seasons of 6+ WAR, plus another 3 of at least 4 WAR. He was better than good, he was a superstar. I know I overlook him at times only because he was overshadowed by the absurd pitching talent the Braves had. Plus, alot of his success came before the days of when you could get every MLB game through various platforms. The only Braves games you could watch were on TBS. I'm not a Braves fan so I ratrely watched them play, looking back in retrospect, I wish I would've watched more of them.

Home runs from Dodgers left fielders in 2012: Juan Rivera on May 6, Bobby Abreu on June 2, Elian Herrera on July 5, Jerry Hairston Jr. on July 7. That's it. -- Jon Weisman: Dodger Thoughts
