Cutch replaces Stanton in the home run derby. I'm glad Cutch will get his spotlight on the national stage, he deserves it.

awesome start to this mets game....sigh

Doubt the Cubs let Dempster go past 5 anyway. If the Mets can stay relatively close, they should get some good shots at that bullpen

welp. F Niese -
The Pirates are playing like the best team in baseball right now.
It's time to stock up on canned goods. The Mayans were right. -
Lol, calm down a bit. 2 of 3 against the giants (at their lowest point) isn't some big accomplishment..... Unless you were talking specifically about today. They hit lincecum like only a few dozen teams have this season.
-
The Bucs are 11-1-1 in their last 13 series. They have scored the most runs in baseball since June 1st. So no, I'm not just basing my comments on today.
-
Ok my bad. When you said "right now" I thought you were talking about a shorter time period than a month and a half.
-
Since i'm sure not many of you saw this. Spiderman taking away a Votto HR.

I love the pirates. Reserving a bandwagon seat now. Bye mets.

Heath Bell is a good ball player.

Anyone watching the futures game? Cole was throwing some serious gas in the 2nd.

Dodgers making this way too easy on trevor.

He's got the stuff and the stamina, I just hope he can figure out how to pitch. His velocity is similar to Verlander's, in that he usually starts the games in the mid 90s, then reaches back for more as the game goes on when he needs it. A few weeks ago in Altoona (Pirates AA team) he ended the fifth or sixth inning lighting up the scoreboard at 98, 99, 100.

"I’m proud to take the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates. I’m proud, man. I’m proud to pitch for these players, these fans, this city. They’re bringing it out of me. I could … I’m not really going to do a very good job of putting this into words. This just all makes me proud to be a Pittsburgh Pirate."
