  1. Could lower the ERA/WHIP enough so that the M's will rough up Bumgarner?

  2. Reds and Pirates were tied for first place after last Sunday night. 6 days later the Reds have a 4 game lead in the division.
  3. Lincy gives up 2 solo jacks in the first in Seattle.

Normal swongs. The Bucs were 3 games back around last Wednesday before they tied the division. Not that I expect the Bucs to win the division, just sayin, pretty standard.

yea, reds look reaaally good, gonna be hard to cards/bucs/lolbrewers to win it, reds just much more complete of a team. who knkows tho, maybe we get jay/berkman/carpenter/garcia back and make a run, but i pretty much expected if we had more than small injuries to key players we didn't have much of a chance. good thing is nl is pretty meh right now, really not any dominate teams so i think like 10 of the teams have a legit shot to make the playoffs, maybe even 11 or 12

  6. As long as dusty is the manager don't give the reds too much credit.

Also, bring steroids back. Ervin santana is pitching a perfect? gtfo of here.

  11. That was quick. haha

  12. Rays top 5 in this game is 2-27.
  13. 2-30 to end the game.
  14. baseball blows.
  15. FUCK YEA!!!! Pedro heating up again, two homers yesterday, two homers today. Both of his homers today were of the 3-run variety, and absolute fucking rockets.

Pedro may end up being just an averagve regular when you average out his stats, but he is quite the wildcard.

  16. Cardinals Management so happy they won World Series last year because Rasmus trade looking progressively worse (it was terrible for St. Louis to begin with) by the day.

After a horrific start, up to a .776 OPS and climbing. 3-4 with HR, 2B, 2 R, 4 RBI today.

14 R, 7 HR, 19 RBI in 73 AB since being bumped to 2nd in the order, OPS around 1,100, just raking.

  17. yep, was at the game today, awesome game from Colby...saw him and a couple of the other jays at one of the bars downtown last night pretty late, was kinda suprised he had such a good game haha

Things might fall apart with 3 out of their 5 starters injured, but that was a surprising and much needed sweep.
  18. The kid is out late with an afternoon game next day? You can see why the Cards didn't want him anymore.

    Last 20 games, .321 AVG, .992 OPS, 7 HRs, 19 RBIs....

And when he's slumping, and seen out at bars the night before an afternoon game, you'll be singing a different tune.

  21. Scrubs trade Castro and I'll move back to Chitown and hunt Theo. WTF!! News flash.. Hit leaders don't walk, they hit. Putting the ball in play is always better than whatever saber stat you want to consider.

You don't need any advanced stats to see that walking twice a month is not good for setting the table for hitters behind you.
  23. When you bang out 206 hits let me know your sabers. Really? WTF is wrong with you people? OH YEAH-hits mean nothing...

Hits mean a lot. So do walks. For a player to make up for walking twice a month, he's going to need to hit for a lot of power (Castro doesn't) or hit for an absurd BA (Castro is hitting .291). He's a good player, but that walk rate is absolutely terrible right now.

I dunno if you are just trolling or w/e, but OBP isn't exactly an advanced stat anymore.

  25. 118 major league players get on base at a higher clip than Starlin. 118. And he's a number two hitter. Pretty wild.

Castro is a really good hitter, but he's a pretty easy guy to get out. You can't make as many outs as he does and be an elite player.

    w/ NYM (839 games): .280/369/.500, 149 HR, 559 RBI, 100 SB, 30.2 WAR
    w/ KC (795 games): .287/.352/.483, 123 HR, 516 RBI, 164 SB, 23.1 WAR

Cumulative statistics aside, he absolutely made his identity known as a Houston Astro with that playoff run.
