Correa and Giolito are probably the two biggest wild cards tonight. I want Correa as a Twins fan.

lolwut? has nothing to do with him no hitting us. i was actually pullin for him once we went down 5-0, always liked him. dude threw what 135 pitches? gaur he gets rocked next outing, and that was before i knew he was playin the yankees. put your house on the yankees that game, free money

  8. Giants complete the sweep, thanks to starlin Castro forgetting how many outs there were on a double play ball and not throwing to 1st. At least they got 1 out, so their defensive efficiency rating won't be hurt.

Vogeltron just continues to pitch well, offense eeks out just enough runs, and the g-men have won 7 of 8

i'd be happy with either Correa or Buxton. But as a Ms fan, it's hard not to look at Correa and think about Alex Rodriguez. I have no clue which way the Ms are leaning. I was surprised to see Seattle take Paxton last year. Zunino is an obvious fit, but teams that draft for fit instead of taking the best player available are poorly run IMO. I could see the Ms going in several different directions tonight.
  10. Holy shit, Correa went #1. Fuck.

We get it, you prefer ignorance to advanced data. You're not funny, it's getting old.

    Love that pick
  14. What most people thought was going to be either the #1 or 2 pick, Mark Appel, is still undrafted 5 picks in and two college arms have gone ahead of him. This draft is nuts
  15. Appel still avaiable at #6 for the Cubs if they want him. Two more picks to fade, then the Bucs get him. Never thought it was possible, but this would be unbelievable. No jinx, etc.

EDIT: These new rules are confusing as hell. Jim Callis tweeted that the Pads and Bucs aren't going to take Appel. Fuck Boras, fuck this shit. Having no bonus restrictions or a strict slotting system has to be better than this BS.

I would think that you'd want them to draft a position player

Eh I just want the best player available. An elite college arm appeals to me because presumably he could be in the Majors in 2014, and our rotation has the potential the be .. well ... maybe the best in baseball.

I can see that. I think whoever signs Appel is going to lose their first round pick next year.

Edit: Actually I don't think teams can lose picks yet. Think that starts next year.

Yeah what's his deal? He hasn't been very good lately. Struggling with command.

Not trying to be funny. That's the kind of play that will show up on paper as being an efficient defensive play, which proves that stat is flawed. I'm not against all advanced stats, dumbass, as you would know if weren't too busy being a jackoff in every baseball thread.

You act like that type of play happens every single time. I'd still trust def eff. before anything human related, regarding team defense.

def. command problems. too many walks and esp. WAY too many foul balls against him whereas last year's kershaw finished batters off in 4 pitches. that AB against polanco was a perfect example.
  29. can anyone who follows the amateur draft guys give me the book on the dodgers pick corey seager? obv. know about his brother, but sounds like this guy could be the power hitting 3B we have sorely needed since beltre. good pick or a reach?
  30. The Mets drafted a player with braces. That's it this season is over.
