    FYI

Gwynn is not our starter. Bench player getting some time since Rivera/Kemp is on DL.
  2. well i mean starter right now with both those guys gone. but yea when you put it that way its even worse lol. 1/8 opening day starters(maybe not, dunno when rivera went down) and they still put up 6.

and you know what i meant amartin. i dunno what they all bat, but aside from eithier, top guy is prob a .270 hitter at best and the bottom guy prob a sub .200. id guess their group avg was like .230 tonight tops.

  3. bump FU Logan, way to not get over

f'ing amateur hour up in yankee stadium
  4. Heh ... no wonder I was so excited about the Bucs coming from 4 runs down to beat the Mets last night:

"According to Elias, the Bucs were working on a streak of 160 straight games in which they had failed to come back and win when down by four or more runs, which was the second longest streak of all-time. The record is 178 games set by the Washington Senators from 1906-10. The last time the Pirates did it was June 1, 2009 also against the Mets."

10th best offense in the NL, 7th best pitching ... yea, how can they be stopped?

I hope Jay Bruce and Joey Votto collide on a pop fly and you guys finish in last place.

The NL Central is very weak this season, it's going to be a close battle of attrition.

  8. waino lookin like the old guy we love tonight. CG SO 9k 1bb 4 hits. grant it, it was against the padres, but dude needed a game like this for his confidence. hopefully he goes on a tear now.

  9. Wow. Posey hit a ball that cleared the center field wall 60 feet high and nailed the scoreboard Stanton style.

So in about one third of their games since June 09 they were down four or more at one point? haha that seems pretty atrocious.

  13. bryce harper with his 3rd triple.

most guys who hit triples are gap hitters w/ speed. this kid has power and speed.

I think it will be close between Reds and Cards most of the year. Reds started off bad but have been playing well lately. All starters throwing great with the exception of Leake, but he threw well last outing. One of the best bullpens in baseball and they are missing 3 guys. Offense has struggled a bit but they are almost always one of the best in the league and I expect them to end the year near the top. They've been swinging the bat better as of late. They just hit 3 HRs off Beachy and he had given up one entering tonight and was 1st in ERA.
Yes the central sucks, but the Reds are the best team in that division.
  15. i wouldn't call 4/5 guys with a 3.46 ERA or higher great....

but yea, i think itll be a close battle between cards and reds all year. brewers might crawl back in, but with no real protection for braun i dont see the offense doing shit. gallardo will get it together tho so they have a pretty solid 1-2-3 with him marcum and grienke, dunno if its enough to keep pace tho.

and what i feared would happen is happening, lots of injuries already for the cards. can't afford anyone else to go down really, esp a pitcher. hopefully we can make the playoffs tho and field a heathy sqaud in october and cards have a good a chance as anyone in the NL to make the world series.

The Cards are getting crushed by injuries and thats the main reason I give the Reds an edge.
    And regarding the Reds starters:
    Cueto obviously good.
Latos has been great his last 6 starts. He struggled his first few of the year, but he is way worse in his career in March and April compared to the rest of the year. From what I've seen from him I think he will continue to be good.
Arroyo will be like he always is and eat up the innings. Is he great? No, but you know what you get with him.
Bailey is their 4 starter and has actually been serviceable. 6 of his 8 starts has been quality starts. I know at is still a 4.50 ERA, but outside of one, maybe 2 starts, he has been very good.
Leake hasn't been very good like I said, but he is our 5 starter so I'm not expecting much. He did have a good outing yesterday tho.

So the starters are pretty good and that's all they have to be with their bullpen.

Some of the Cards injuries were predictable considering they have Beltran and Berkman, and Furcal hasn't even made his annual trip to the DL yet.

calm down bro. i know you're a cool guy 99% of the time but c'mon man. the cards are defending champs and still in 1st.
  24. has nothin to do with cards and has all to do with me losing money and LA just raping the world right now lol. ive bet against them every day since game 1 of cards series, and today was icing on the cake. i mean seriously tho, without kemp, they are slightly above oakland's offense and yet they mashing in 6+ runs for a week straight and getting game winning hits from guys with less than 50 AB's in the majors every night. its insane how hot theyre running right now.

some hockey team used a bunch of randoms and two goalies with a combined save % of .933 to have the second most points in the nhl this year...
  26. you are the nut low for a sports fan. go cry about how the devils outplay everyone in the world and shoulda won every game all season. you are an idiot if you think the blues were a bunch of randoms lol, esp when we have someone who played for you guys for like 10 years.

On top of that, its not even a comparable arguement. If the blues won every game 5-3, then maybe. If the dodgers were on a 6 or 7 game winning streak but were winning 2-1, you wouldn't hear me bitching. Its all about how the team is built, and the dodgers do not have a line up that will score 6+ a game without kemp, yet they are.

please die, have fun watching your devils lose tom. night after they outplay the rangers horribly.
