    Braun, Kemp, Beltran

I think the most impressive thing of the day is that Moyer and Latos gave up a combined 9 HR's today yet only 12 runs were scored in the entire game.

Don't give me the shit about him being a 27 year old who is in his 3rd consecutive year of rising OPS, while playing on his 4th team in 4 years, and switching from AL to NL every one of those years, going from east coast to south to midwest to west coast, and that he had 200 hits last year.

Guy is nothing more than a fucking lucksack on an extended heater. He wasn't even drafted, ffs!

He has gone from a fringe MLBer a few years ago to a very good starter the last two seasons. His luck has made him look like a superstar this season, but he isn't one in the long-term. He plays average defense in the corner outfield spots. He doesn't slug enough to be a star.

  6. I will always remember him for his role in Trot Nixon's inside the park HR

There's an interesting story I got 2nd hand from a girl that allegedly witnessed it, that would make the Trot HR the #2 thing you'd think of when hearing Melky's name.

Still think he's becoming a hell of a player tho, and hard not to be happy for the dude.
  8. That Paul Konerko guy is good at baseball
  9. Nats lookin pretty okay with that gio move after all the nay sayers in the off season... BOY IS NASSSSSTAYYYY

21-32 in his last 9 games!
  11. - Chris Capuano just dealing and Hairston with a solid 5 for 5
    - Holy fuck how bad was the wind blowing out in Cincy today? ridiculous.
    - Melky Cabrera just on fire right now, I hate it.
    - Feeling bad for the Cubbies right now esp. Dempster. Just unreal the different ways they find to fuck games up.
    - Congrats to Konerko. One of the most underrated players of this era.
  12. Why do the White Sox constantly wear a red uniform? Seems odd
  13. Time for the Padres to make an assault on the West. haha

  14. The O/U for that game is 13. Such windaments. In a Padre game.
  15. Red Sox trying to bring back some grit to their lineup of pampered stars. Trot Nixon threw out the first pitch today.
  16. Josh Reddick has 14 bombs this season in 182 AB's. He only had 10 in his first 375 AB's w/Boston. His ISO is .271 (higher now with todays HR). He's been eating his Wheaties.
  17. Too bad Weeks and Crisp don't get on base at all or he'd have quite a bit of RBI's.
  18. Quentin first at bat, double. Nice start off the DL.

really surprising that reddick isn't getting the bonds treatment right now- only 16 BB in 200PA. with cespedes out, oakland's lineup is reddick and the 8 dwarfs and that's putting it nicely.

between this and a twin-billing at coors, the reds/rockies HR total from yesterday is in jeopardy.
  22. They are killing the ball at Wrigley. Good call.

  23. Headley with 2 HR's already. padres go scoreless for 26 straight innings and now explode. Love this team. haha

Meanwhile the Mets pitched the 26 scoreless innings and immediately give up 6 RBI's to Ty Wigginton.

Manny Acosta (who has been by far the worst reliever on the Mets all year) gave up a 3-run bomb to Wigginton. The PR guy at Citi Field played the Undertaker's theme song as they pulled him from the game. It's funny because he's totally getting DFA'd after the game. Rest in peace.

Santana and Dickey are pretty good. the Cubs are the worst team in MLB. doesn't have much to do with the Padres imo

  26. Chris Sale w/14K's through 6. He does have 100 pitches though. Sox seem real right now.

    Ab-surd.
  29. Sale is gonna be done @ 110 after 7. Final line: 3H, 1ER, 15K, 2 BB.

    Not bad.
