Making a Best Buy run today...gonna come away with either the Beats or the Bose. Pretty much within the same price range...I know the beats are legit for bass and the QCs are amazing for blocking out external noise + the fact that they're Bose makes them that much better. What do you guys use? What should I get if I listen to all kinds of music?
-
I think there was a thread on this in the PD awhile back. I think Bose came out on top.
-
$300 for headphones? bwahahahaha dork
-
Beats by Dre if you wanna look like a motherfuckin boss and get blown away by bass all day
-
really depends on what music you listen to. If you are a house music or rap music guy I would go for the BBDs, rock and roll etc go with the bose
-
fwiw, i have the BBD earbuds and have worn them <20 times and they're already not working. that shit pisses me off and apparently i'm not the only person w/ this problem. the build quality is sub-par. they sound great, but if they don't work that doesn't really mean shit, eh?
-
Yeah I kinda thought that might be the case too...but I was looking at the Studios and not the earbuds so maybe they're sturdier. I also hear that the QCs have shitty wiring or something that's caused the cord to fray...not sure if this is just one individual's problem or a bigger thing.

Do you have them both? -
I have the Bose and they are awesome. Never tried on the Beats but I can say that you would not be disappointed with Bose.
-
I have the Bose earbuds. I love them. I was gonna go with the BBD buds but the reviews online seemed to point out the problems youre having. And they are worth the money if you use them alot.

Yeah I have worn my Bose earbuds for countless hours and they still sound incredible.

I love Bose products, but with that said I've also heard good things about Beats as well. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. When you're at Best Buy make sure to ask a salesperson which one is the better in their opinion. They sell so many that I'm sure they have thoughts on what the better product might be.

Beat are made by the same company who attempts to sell you $100 hdmi cables.....

Bose has proven themselves for many years.

I'll be the counter argument. I purchased the newest line of Dre's back in early November. I got these ones:

They were 349.99 CDN on launch day. I like them. Like people have said they are obviously good for Hip Hop but what most people don't know is they are wickedly awesome for classical music as well (as a surprise to most people these are my 2 favorite forms of music). So the beats work perfect for me. These ones are NOT noise cancellation however the ear pieces are so big and snug that there is very little sound leakage and due to this most external noise is not heard at all. I haven't used them on a flight yet, however I take the train to work every day (1 hour each way) and I get little to no external noise when I'm listening to the beats on the train.
I've had mine for 3 months and unlike most of the previous posters mine are NOT falling apart or breaking down. If anything as they get more burnt in / broke in they sound better now then when they did the day i got them out of the box. After about 100 - 150 hours of music you should have them broken in. This is what I found out from my own personal experience. Like most things in life, if your not an idoit and take care of them they are not going to just randomly break on you.
But before I picked them up they other set i was considering was these:

The Sennheiser HD 595's are cheaper then both the Beats and Quiet Comfort and are apparently (according to reviews) just as good if not better. I might still just pick them up anyways and have 2 pairs of headphones.

Yeah, jiggy, I have not heard bad things about the over ear bbd's. I was referring to the ear buds.
-
never heard of beats by dre. but my bose rock...
-
The headphones he posted are actually the "Spins" or "Pro" BBD. They are Monster's attempt at releasing a DJing headphone. One of the ears will flip up while in use if you'd like it to.

We sell both Bose and Beats at my store, and while we aren't allowed to carry the QC series (a Bose exclusive--YIPPEE), I would lean toward the Bose QC's. The BBD sound great, but we have had quite a few quality issues with them lasting and what not. -
Preciate the input fellas...I did some looking online, found the Beats studios on Sears' website for $200 and price-matched them down at Best Buy. Throw in the $30 Best Buy 2 yr warranty (which gets me a new set if something breaks) and I snagged a $300 pair for $230 with the warranty. And so far they sound LEGIT. Got the game on blast in the background and can't hear a thing

I got the Studio beats and I love them...
-
got the studio BBD for christmas - their pretty fuckin nice. popesizzle had the quiet comforts last year before they broke on him though. ive listened to his QC and honestly there isnt a huge difference between the two.
-
beats have a serious quality issues. the display models break, people return them for the speakers going out and what not. but i haven't seen anyone return qc15's. i just picked up the Bose AE2 and love them. I also picked some sound system for my tv and it is pretty awesome as well.
so my vote goes to bose -
my bose headphones lost connection in one of the speakers, fkin annoying no clue what to do about it other than buy a new pair, tried taking it apart and messin with the wires and it still dont work . fml

the day I pay 350$ for headphones i hope the nearest geek squad employee comes up to me and smashes me in the nuts
