but in my personal opinion, my all time favorite is tom hanks mainly because of the movies hes been in. As someone pointed out earlier his versatility is also pretty hard to top
as of late though leo has been great and is quickly becoming one of my favorites... if he keeps this run up he'll at least be in the conversation -
You guys should try watching a few movies that came out before 1970. Check out Judgment at Nuremburg and then try to tell me Spencer Tracey is not the g.o.a.t.

I have only seen 1 of the 10 movies voorh33s listed in his post on page 2 for the movies he has made since 2000. Can happily say I have never seen Titanic also
"The Beach, Gangs of New York, Catch me if you Can, The Aviator, The Departed, Blood Diamond, Body of Lies, Revolutionary Road, Shutter Island, and Inception. " -
his 10 mins of screen time is unforgettable I agree. i like the dude but he has no range whatsoever.
Brando is considered to be the best actor ever by his peers and from what Ive seen I agree (only 5 movies). Currently I think Leo is best then Damon. Christian Bale is coming up fast as long as he continues to make the right movies.
I honestly know very little about daniel-day. cant comment on him but i see others like him alot. -
If you know very little about Daniel Day Lewis then you suck at watching movies.

oh wait, that game does not exist -
No dig just he has an awesome resume and anyone that enjoys movies should deff watch My left foot, in the name of the father, last of the mohicans, the boxer, gangs of new yourk, there will be blood. He was ridicously good in all those.

DDL gets major props for being able to pull off some real bad ass characters in There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York when he looks like this irl

The only thing wrong with DDL is he needs to make more movies. He has the best acting chops but I haven't seen enough of his movies to know his range. I've only seen three -
only stole the show in an oscar winning performance and owns one of the most infamous singular performances in American Psycho. lead star in multiple big budget, profitable films. not a bad start to a 11 year career as a leading man. hes an elite character actor for sure
-
bale was also awesome in footloose...or was that someone else?
-
i was once told by a wise man that if you know very little about DDL then you suck at watching movies. take that
-
I have to imagine that DDL will have a chance at another Oscar with Lincoln. Just feel its a movie critics will jizz over if it's done right.

I love his dedication. Here's some trivia about him
While filming Gangs of New York (2002) he rarely got out of character and would talk with a New York accent the whole day and would be sharpening his knives at lunch
During The Last of the Mohicans (1992) he built a canoe, learned to track and skin animals, and perfected the use of a 12-pound flintlock gun, which he took everywhere he went, even to a Christmas dinner.
other tidbits
After Michael Madsen was found to be unavailable for the part, Day-Lewis tried to get the role of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction (1994), one of the few times he actively pursued a part. However, by that point in the casting, Quentin Tarantino had John Travolta in mind for the part.
He was Jonathan Demme's first choice for the part of Andrew Beckett in Philadelphia (1993). He turned the part down to work on In the Name of the Father (1993) and Tom Hanks was cast in Philadelphia (1993) instead. Day-Lewis earned an Oscar nomination for best actor in In the Name of the Father (1993), but Hanks won the best actor Oscar for Philadelphia (1993), the part Day-Lewis turned down.
Following The Boxer, Day-Lewis took a leave of absence from acting by putting himself into "semi-retirement" and returning to his old passion of woodworking.[19] He moved to Florence, Italy, where he became intrigued by the craft of shoemaking, eventually apprenticing as a shoemaker.[9] For a time his exact whereabouts and actions were not made publicly known.[20] Day-Lewis has declined to discuss this period of his life, stating that "it was a period of my life that I had a right to without any intervention of that kind." -
The AFI had a list of 25 male American Legends from American Cinema and not one person in the poll was on there

Tom Hanks made a movie by himself. He was pretty much the only actor and it made a ton of money.
But then again I never heard of Daniel Day-Lewis -
Kind of surprised that Gene Hackman hasn't received any love. I think Robin Williams has done great work as well.

^^^^ more noise out of you. just stop please.
