  2. I never really got into this genre of film, but The Ring freaked the shit out of me when I saw it in theaters.

this wasnt nearly as scary as I expected, although it did frighten me on multiple occasions.
  13. well that was quite unexpected lol

in reference to the mouth fucking guy, im not sure how to edit yet :/
  14.
  15. The Exorcist

Also, most David Lynch films creep me out
  16. Are we talking best or scariest? Best is Jaws and imho inec. Shining?

Beyond that Japan pretty much has the "best scary movie" thing cornered. Audition, Ju-on, The Eye, Jugiokumon, Infection, etc.

Watch these and you'll never be able to watch bad american horror films again.

  18. End of Blair Witch was fairly disturbing. Scariest movie I ever saw was Poltergeist, but I was around 10 when I saw it.

  19. I got a bunch of all-time favorites ~ Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the original from like 1957); The Thing, directed by Howard Hawks and Christian Nyby; and The Thing 1982 directed by John Carpenter; and Aliens (the original) has to make the list; Night of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead and The Exorcist.
  20. im sorry but the 4th kind was a scary fucking movie!
  21. The Omen (the original w/ Gregory Peck) is fantastic.

Saw it in the theater when I was 10 and my parents went out that night and left me alone. I climbed into their bed shaking and sweating and waited for them to return. So they slept in a puddle of sweat. Payback (not for taking me to the movie- I loved it- but for leaving a 10 yr old at home alone)
  22. The Shining
  23. Halloween, The Shining, The Exorcist, Ms. Congeniality

  25. The Amittyville Horror (the newer one), The Strangers, The Exorcist
  26. There is a movie on netflix instant called Imprint that is part of the Masters of Horror series on Showtime. They never aired it on Showtime because it was too controversial. It's definitely worth a watch, the ending is the best part.

  28. The one and only movie that I remember seeing that scared the living shit out of me was Event Horizon. I was probably like 15 when I went to see that in the theater and man it fucking freaked me out. It is the only movie that I've seen where I actually wanted to cover my eyes during certain scenes.

I saw it years later on DVD and it just wasn't the same. I think it was the combination of my age along with the movie theater sound that combined for the perfect freakout factor.
  29. Jacob's Ladder is very very good, also REC.

Anyone seen REC 2 yet? any good?

Drag Me to Hell completely owns and there is alot of shit that pops and out startles you but its not really scary

I was actually completely surprised by Orphan i thought it would be horrible and i would hate it but i actually really liked it. Worth checking out.

LOL strangers was terrible and not scary at all imo.

The Excorcist was terriying when I was a little kid, but i watched it a coulple months ago and all of it was just so hokey, dumb and unintentionally funny i bet most of you would feel the same way if you watched it now.
