Lock it up.
-
127 hours is looking promising, obviously impossible to tell though in january
-
127 hours is out?
-
That Trailer was a trip. Also 127 hours looks like the most boring movie ever to me.
-
It's been out for like 1-2 months now.
-
looks pretty kick ass. I lok forward to it.
-
battle of LA could be good
-
according to imdb it came out november 12 in the states, but only limited release. nothing listed as far as a broader release in usa though, which i find odd

Already saw 127 hours. It was ok, NO WAY the best movie of 2011 though.
-
Just to be clear.. when I said "impossible to tell though in January", I was referring to what the best movie of 2011 will be, not whether 127 Hours is good or not =P

edit: and also more importantly, the biggest global release for the movie is in january so its why i referred it as a 2011 movie to begin with. -
It's just the fact that 127 Hours is far and away a 2010 movie. It has been out for months. Maybe it didn't/hasn't reached every theater in the country, but it has been in at least 3 of the cities I've been in recently and in multiple theaters, as far back as November.
As for the movie Hanna - I'll bite. Looks like it has potential. The girl is from The Lovely Bones and Atonement and the director did Atonement. -
if I had to throw a wild guess what the top movies of 2011 would be I'd guess Thor & Hangover 2 being incredibly popular and Hugo Cabaret & Melancholia being incredibly good
-
National Treasure 3.... ship it.
-
Visuals
-
looks awesome possum
-
opossum*
if you're going to keep saying it, spell it right. -
Hanna might be entertaining in the sense that Kill Bill and Con Air were but there's literally less than a 5% chance that this is actually a "good" movie let alone the best of 2011....imo.
-
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 tho

I'll put money on this. I guarantee up to $20 that it receives at least a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes when the reviews come out. The cast alone insures that the film will good.
Here's my rule of thumb:
When three big name actors - two of which have been nominated for an Oscar in the past two years and all of which have appeared in Oscar nominated films in the past five years - all agree to do a movie, there's almost no chance it's going to be bad. It passes the "Must be a helluva screenplay" test.
Like I said: Movie of the year. -
blockbusters are rarely movies of the year (Titanic is the only one that comes to mind). And I'm not sure how you're defining movie of the year, but I assume Oscar nomination at least?

I will take this bet and I understand your logic but I'm still going with the under here. I don't have much faith in Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett seems to be in every other movie I watch lately. I don't know how RT works because I never go there so how about it has to break/maintain a 7.5 on IMDB? I'm starting to doubt myself while typing this so take it while its hot.
