  6. Vanderbilt University has been known to produce its share of greats.
  7. Nice Commodore tribute to P5s. Poker might well be Vandy's strongest sport. Heh! No, seriously, I rip Vanderbilt, but they are a great school in a great location here in Nashville. However, Moneymaker went to Tennessee and so did I, so I dunno, good SEC matchup there.
  8. Are you Brian Benda? I'm a TN Youth Leg Alum.
  9. Don't most poker players drop out of college? Or is that just me?

No, one of the things that amazes me about the top players is the variety of their backgrounds. I mean from Scotty Nguen to Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey to Doyle Brunson, poker players are a motley crew, and that is a part of the beauty of the game. You've got a PHD mathmetician sitting next to a streetkid from Brooklyn and a 21 year old internet whiz going up against living legends.
Is it just me or does poker epitomize the American dream? I mean it's one of the few arenas where it doesn't matter one bit where you came from or who your daddy was, all that matters is talent, guts, determination, and hard work. Oh yeah, a little luck never hurt anybody either ; )
  10. Centre College - a practical breeding ground for great poker players.
